I was thinking Emperor but that's not a bad shout I reckon.

They've already ruled out Emperor. Everyone on Facebook was guessing them as they posted artwork from the Anthems album so they confirmed it wouldn't be them.

They have ruled out Behemoth too.

Could be Candlemass?

I don't think Candlemass are bigger than Carcass or Devin Townsend

Having the original singer could be a factor though****

There's apparently been a delay with announcing a couple of the bigger black & death metal bands but the headliner announcement (+ 8 other bands) has been brought forward to 12pm today.

Fair enough, they weren't wrong about it being the biggest headliner they've ever had.
Personally I find Opeth boring but they'll no doubt please a lot of people and will shift plenty of tickets.
No idea who any of those other bands are though.

ooh and they've used the Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk artwork as the backdrop.

Don't like Opeth at all, but Imperial Triumph and Jo Quail are of interest, and hopefully the big black and death bands they can't announce yet will be to my liking.

I like Opeth, but I've seen them more than enough over the years that them being the headliner doesn't really do anything for me. Still a good enough band to end a festival on I guess.

Not really aware of the rest of the bands, but having heard of them it seems like Damnation do filler far better than Bloodstock these days. All these bands, even the ones I don't really like are far more interesting than anything on Bloodstock stages.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

Out of that lot im only interested in Dawn Ray'd though a fair few I need to check out.

Hopefully the Black and Death announcement that got delayed will be something good
