Really? All three? :o

This is great news though. I reckon I'll go to the Bristol show as it's a Saturday and I don't know where I'll be living in February. Perhaps I'll still do the London show, but I'll have to think about that.

Any idea about supports yet? I really hope they take Vuur around like they've been doing in Latin America.

Not yet. The dates were taken from a screenshot of the Download programme and it didn't mention who the supports are

What's the Electric Brixton like for metal shows? Only been there for rap shows so can't really judge how the sound will be.

I've seen Iced Earth/Ensiferum/Kataklysm/Unearth and Kamelot/Cellar Darling/Leaves Eyes at the Electric Brixton and both were fine although I had some issues with Iced Earth's sound early in their set but it seemed to clear up as the set progressed and my position relative to the speakers naturally changed with the crowd.

I'll be doing either London or Birmingham. Maybe both.

Merel Bechtold has sadly just left Delain. :( Graspop will be her last appearance with them after missing a bunch of shows to play with MaYaN. In all honesty I think she was a bit wasted on Delain and had very little creative input. Her Purest of Pain album 'Sollipsis' from last year showcased what she can do as a songwriter and musician far better than Delain ever could. I initially hoped that she might focus on Purest of Pain - a Melodeath project - more from now on but it turns out she has a new band called Dear Mother which I know nothing about other than it has an Instagram page.

I have to say, I never really understood what she brought to Delain anyway. They were fine with just Timo before she joined, and I have no doubt they will continue to impress without her.

I think it was because she subbed for Timo quite a lot a few years ago (he seemed to take quite long leaves of absence from the band for while) and she just never really went away. I agree that she was a bit wasted there - she's a killer player and it was strange mostly seeing her just playing rhythm. I hoped they'd start incorporating more twin-guitar parts in their songs, but sadly not.

That would have been great, particularly in place of the keyboards on 'Art Kills' which are a bit overbearing and sound like something from Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems.
