He never said anything at Brixton, he just said "we'll see you next year" which I assumed was their Ally Pally and B'ham date.

Can't see how it would work on this tour anyway with the big slots seemingly taken up already. Either way they do it they'd have to pay 2 members not to play.

Add in what others have said I'm skeptical at best.

Now that Kiss are playing Rockfest Barcelona, I'll consider a day ticket for Iron Maiden depending who else is on that day. In the unlikely event they announce Mercyful Fate however, that would change my plans

once again, a decent amount of bands but not enough on one day to really tempt me, Saturday has potential though.

Same here - enough bands across the whole lineup but there's no way I'm going back for a weekend ever again. Saturday was the day I was considering because of Maiden but that's where we differ - other than Maiden & the Wildhearts there's currently nothing I really care about on that day so unless it greatly improves I probably won't bother

Wow! That is terrible even by Download's low standards.

Would've liked Electric Wizard, Dying Fetus and Obituary at bloodstock :(

Don't listen to Iron Maiden enough anymore to justify a day ticket even with the latter two on the same day, what with their ludicrous prices and organizational shitshow.

Pretty much. Only three bands across the weekend for me, with perhaps another three that I'd watch if I was there. Very weak.

Hence why I said potential :P

As someone pointed out to me, Sunday is a chance for those of us who grew up in the 00's to tick a lot of boxes in one place. If the rest of the day has decent bands could be worth it for the craic.

Are there any circumstances in which either of you would ever like a Download line-up though? :?

Saturday is looking quite promising with Gojira and Killswitch Engage on Maiden day so a day ticket is still on the cards. There are a few gaps which could be filled by Alter Bridge, Nightwish and Sabaton - although my track record at predicting festival line-ups is atrocious. I'm expecting there to be clashes though. With Killswitch Engage down in the middle order on the poster and not printed with their logo, should I expect them to be on the second stage? And is it likely that Gojira will headline the second stage or are they not there yet?

I've read it differently to you, from the poster I would say Gojira are 3rd on main and KSE + bands beneath them are just plonked there in no real order other than to show they're playing that day.

I would say Gojira would be wasted headlining 2nd given a lot of people (going from years Maiden have played before) will camp at main and sacrifice seeing Gojira to get a good spot for main.

there's no real way of judging that at the moment. this is the poster from around this stage last year, Slayer, Rob Zombie and Dream Theater played on the second stage, the others were on the main stage

Those clashes on Saturday are ridiculous.
Sod's law that there's very little worth watching on the Friday, and most of the good bands are crammed into Saturday evening.
