Clutch Residency at Ramblin Man

Postby zombieman » Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:44 am

Clutch will play a very special three-day, three-set residency at next summer’s Ramblin’ Man Fair.

Always a truly formidable act in the live arena, the Maryland rockers will kick off their Mote Park residency on Friday 17th July when they top the Main Stage bill. It’s their debut UK festival headline performance.

The ‘Who Wants To Rock?’ set on Friday will be a full-on electric performance featuring Clutch’s biggest anthems from their distinguished back-catalogue.

The Saturday afternoon will feature an ‘An Afternoon At The Doom Saloon’ set on the Main Stage, which is billed as ‘slow-burning set of Clutch classics, semi acoustic grooves, and more’ that will ‘start mellow and acoustic and gradually pick up steam.’

On Sunday night on the Blues Stage, Clutch will play a ‘Sound Attack!’ set that will fuse rock with go-go, funk and blues. Described as a party set, the performance will be more eclectic and experimental and will feature a number of special guests.

Commenting on Clutch’s unique residency, frontman Neil Fallon said: "We are very flattered to have been asked to do three sets at Ramblin’ Man 2020. We plan to make each set as distinct as possible.

“The first set, on Friday, will be the barn burner, Saturday will be more of a semi-acoustic set, and for Sunday we plan to invite many friends to jam out to the end. Then, we will sleep."

Rival Sons announced as their final headliner, what started off with promise has just slid back into the usual with their line ups

Seen they're offering a Spirit of Rock package, £950 for chance to buy a ticket early, a t-shirt and some magazines; it's insane

Clutch 3 day residency re-confirmed for Ramblin Man 2021.

The first wave of bands have been confirmed for Ramblin’ Man Fair 2021 after this year’s event was postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Set to return to the beautiful Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th July 2021, many of the acts on the 2020 bill will honour their slots next summer.

Maryland rock monoliths Clutch will once again play a very special three-day, three-set residency at Ramblin’ Man Fair 2021 that will kick off on the Friday night with a headline performance on the Planet Rock Main Stage.

The ‘Who Wants To Rock?’ set on Friday will be a full-on electric performance featuring Clutch’s biggest anthems from their fabled back-catalogue.

I really like Clutch so I'd be really intrigued to see this but a) living in Leeds means the festival is quite a trek and involves additional time off work and b) it's bloody expensive when you look at the quality throughout the rest of the line-up which is rather underwhelming.
