I'm looking forward to it, but will probably be disappointed. I'm hoping for Helloween and Iced Earth, but I'm sure we'll get Evil Scarecrow.

Download Spain and France announced a bunch of bands recently, some of whom I can't imagine would generate much interest at the real Download, such as Cellar Darling, Eluveitie and Powerwolf. Powerwolf have a London show in November so would they announce a festival show before the headline show has taken place? Maybe not. As far as I know Eluveitie don't have any UK shows coming up and Cellar Darling definitely don't.

Do we think we might be getting the final sophie headliner on Tuesday? If so, who are we thinking? Doro and Watain and pretty decent sized names so far!

In recent years, I've felt like that with almost every announcement - e.g. hope for big-name power-metal bands, end up with crap like Evil Scarecrow or some 90's no-hit wonders like Stuck Mojo :(

I'd take that, though I would wonder where they'd end up on the line up, very cult band.

Would Exhorder fill the 90's no hit wonder quota? :eyes:

They probably would, yes. Although given they are the band that Pantera ripped off for their sound that everybody knows them for, I imagine they'd go down a bit better than shite like Misery Loves Company or Pro-Pain.

Possible but I doubt the festival would fork out the large amount of cash Danzig can command in some circles, for something that isn't guaranteed to go down well.

As popular as Danzig, I'm not sure he's the right fit for such a high slot at Bloodstock (surely he'd insist on a special guest slot?)

That was a crap announcement. I'm starting to think that Bloodstock really did blow the entire budget on Judas Priest and Nightwish! I'll probably listen to Orphaned Land and Vola a bit and see what this Jasta & Friends thing is all about but apart from the great headliners the rest of the line-up is looking a bit underwhelming.

Really disappointing announcement and a distinct lack of thrash bands continues :(

So essentially we have 2 bands that are essentially retreads of bands from previous years, Venom Inc for Venom and Jasta for Hatebreed

Poor announcement for me, Venom inc are the highlight personally. Jasta is just a worse version of hatebreed so I guess that's alright? Don't like Vola or Orphaned land.

1 and half out of 4....woo :(
