I hope they book some comedy acts on the Thursday, good way to ease into the festival mood which Archers and Tyr wouldn't do

Realistically, which bands of that size fit the bill of party band though?

Well we've had Arnocorps and Jaldaboath before, doesn't necessarily have to headliner either. Tyr or Archers could headline and have a few fun bands to drink and unwind beforehand and I can head back to my tent early if necessary

I love Jaldaboath on CD, but I must admit I thought live it didn't work. The terrible sound (from where I was standing at least) did not help matters.

I suppose Lawnmower Deth could do the slot if you look down that line of bands. Probably not as big of a draw as Battle Beast given that most that want to see them reunited have now, but certainly have the right atmosphere. I suppose it depends if party atmosphere was their aim, or just having a bigger band headline the Thursday night.

"Entertainment" isn't the word I would chose to describe Andrew WK.

I would also settle for Andrew WK  bit big for Sophie/Thursday though

Lawnmower Deth would work, I'm not saying we need a big comedy act like Steel Panther I'd settle for the likes of F.K.U. or Insanity Alert, just something to get the spirits up before the festival proper and it needn't be a headliner band. Felt it was something missing from the festival this year to be honest.

If I remember correctly, someone said we have an announcement on 5th December (next Tuesday). I think there's a good chance it'll include Iced Earth as they've just announced a North American tour for February and March, which comes after a German and Greek tour in January. As they already have a couple of European festivals confirmed I'm guessing they'll spend summer doing a ton of festivals, hopefully including Bloodstock! After that's finished I can imagine they'll announce a proper tour for the end of the year.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them as well. I'm already seeing them at Rockfest Barcelona but you can never see Iced Earth too many times!
