That could happen. They're playing a festival in the Czech Republic the weekend before. However, they're down to play Hard Rock Hell in November:

I couldn't find any mention of that show being a UK festival exclusive but it could be.

As for the Trivium suggestion, I would be very underwhelmed by them as special guest. (Which would fit well with recent announcements!) They're not a band I have any particular problem with but I just don't have any interest in them anymore. When 'Ascendancy' came out in 2005 I was a massive fan but a couple of years later they'd changed and my music taste had changed. The two did not change together. I've heard bits of their recent stuff and it sounds OK and if I were to give them a chance I'd probably like it, but I just don't care anymore.

I still think Epica are a decent shout for special guest (Wacken the weekend before and an Austrian festival the weekend after Bloodstock). To be announced on Tuesday April 17th. :P

BLOODSTOCK brings you MUSCLE 2 THE MASSES!

Following on from last year’s awesome show in the festival arena, BLOODSTOCK HQ is excited to announce the return of our very popular Strongman team, but there’s a difference this year! In 2018, in collaboration with our friends at 100%CA we are opening up the Strongman competition to the very strongest of the BLOODSTOCK fan base! If you think you have what’s required to be up there with the strongest in the country, check out one of the following two event links and enter for your chance to actually compete with the strongmen at this year’s BLOODSTOCK and be the winner of our first ever amateur BLOODSTOCK’s Strongest Man.

Well they're doing some shows soon in March? (theres a thread somewhere) in the UK already anyway; that and don't think HRH get many/any exclusives anyway, most headliners to events I've attended do so amongst a larger UK tour.

Any ideas for the announcement? Looking at the Graspop and Summer Breeze line up's I've come up with a few potential names:

- Accept: Only one UK date on the 8th Feb and on the European festival circuit during the summer.

- Body Count: On par with Kreator and Arch Enemy on the Graspop poster, possible Saturday special guest?

- Exodus and/or Sepultura: To make up for the lack of thrash so far!

- Orange Goblin and/or COC: As token stoner band.

- Madball: Seems as we always have a hardcore band, although may already have enough with ST and Jasta.

- Powerwolf/Amaranthe/Marduk: All three appearing at both fests.

Also Evil Scarecrow lol.

As per usual we're sat here hoping for decent names when it'll probably be Evil bloody Scarecrow on the main stage somewhere along with a host of nobodies for the Sophie stage...

Sepultura have a bunch of UK dates in March so if they're at Bloodstock then I'd expect them to be announced once that tour has finished. Iced Earth's mini-European tour has finished until the summer festivals so I'm still hoping for them. Evergrey are doing a few festivals too.

Primal Fear are doing various summer shows as part of their 20th anniversary. They also have a new album due out this year.

Been many years since they were last at BOA.

I can't see either Sepultura or Primal Fear being booked unless they can get them both very cheaply, no one really cares about either of them these days, and I can't see many people buying tickets on the strength of them being booked.

I've mentioned this in this thread before but Bodycount are on the bill for this year's Download festival, so I'd be extremely surprised if they also did Bloodstock the same year.

Exodus would be my guess for one of the next announcements.
