We came from the carpark, but we were quite early. Some of our mates went on ahead and discovered that they had already opened (around 10am) so, instead of sinking more cans at the carpark we headed in. Once in the queue it must have been only half an hour tops.

As for searches, the attendant went through the usual 'no gas, glass or drugs' spiel and simply asked if all I had in my backpack was clothes. When I said 'yes' she hilariously accused me of being boring and waved me through without a single check.

It all merged into one anyway.

I did think that the left-hand side of the queue was moving faster than the right though.

Yes. But the queue coming from the car park was stretching a few hundred yards behind where we were joining the queue.

Ai we joined from the bus side and it was fairly short, but got there like 1ish and the carpark was way back rounding around the camper van area.

No wonder that queue took so long if all you shuttlebus bastards were pushing in at the front

I joined at the back of the queue when I arrived at 2PM, but it was only a hundred meters or so past the box office at that time.

We trade off shorter queues for less carrying capacity :P

I did feel a bit guilty jumping off the BGC and joining the queue at the dropoff, but there was no way I was going to drag my stuff all the way to the end of the mile-long queue from the carpark, just to drag it all the way back to the gates. :P

Hopefully next year they put a bit more planning into the bag searches and the queue doesn't get to the size it did this year.

That should be the organizers' top priority.

Our coach from Glasgow arrived just after 1pm and the queue was back to the road at that point. You could see the looks of horror/disbelief from folk on the bus when we got dropped off and I have never been so glad that I was in VIP.

Also they need to do something about that entrance queue before expanding the capacity any further, I was stuck in that for 3 baking hot hours this year. Maybe open the campsites on Wednesday so everyone isn't trying to get in at the same time.

Yes i did notice this year. We got there just after 12pm and the queues was not to bad it was just beyond the port loos at the booking office by the time we got our tent up and ready for the next trip to the car and that was around 3pm the queues was near or more less at the ramp just has you cross the road. We got back to the tent and they was still a long queue after the second trip and that must of been around 4pm. An hour had past after that and pop my head up to look at the queue it was gone. If i am not correct i heard word that they ran out of wrist bands and stop checking bags and let everyone though.

Rumoured on another thread that they are increasing the capacity by 25% to 18,500
