Bloodstock could have a perfect blend of genres, bring Dio back from the dead, Slayer's final show ever, have Iron Maiden close the festival and people will still complain.

My sig quote will never stop being relevant

For what it's worth... It's a sideshow that's easy to miss so it's easy to ignore. I can only recall seeing the re-enactors in action once and last year I caught someone pulling a car on my way to see a band, and another time I saw folks clearing up on the way back to my campsite. None of it was offensive and didn't get in my way. *shrug* It'll be cool for some people
If it sounds good, listen to it

I'm disappointed to see they're doing heats for it. Would be great to see tanked up metalheads just entering on the day for a laugh and failing miserably. I guess that's probably not allowed though for various totally sensible but boring reasons.

Not something I am interested in but doesn't bother me either. I won't stop to watch the weightlifting but will give it a glance if passing.

I prefer watching the guys in armour beat seven shades of shit out of each other and I will happily spend time watching them if they don't clash with bands I want to see.

Think they may be confusing people looking at it while walking past it as part of the audience...

To echo whats been said before, I would only watch it if they allowed people to join in on the day so we can watch people drunkenly fail.

Think they're missing a trick by not getting Chris Jericho to join in though

Nope. I'm Bloodstock's (and probably the world's) weakest man. :P

Why have either?

Why not a model railway exhibition? Or stamp collecting? Or wargaming? Or *insert hobby of choice here*?

None of them have anything to do with music. So why are they at a MUSIC festival.

Not aimed at you in particular, just that your post was most quotable.

Id be into this if it Wasnt at a MUSIC festival... Im a Gym rat but i dont agree that a strong man event should be at a metal festival.. the only lifting i plan on doing is my Ale filled horn in my hand pouring into my throat and assisting Crowd surfers and any ladies who wany a better view of the bands that are playing
