I politely enquired why, when the details must be with the laminate printers by then, saying giving them even the Friday would give people the weekend to plan.

Shockingly, no reply...

Gotta sell those laminates! :ugh:

Just wanted to pop in here to thank the OP for the time they put into the clashfinder this year! Always helps when this festival is notoriously late with the timings!

Without going on a rant about why I now only go to European fests and don’t attend any outdoor ones in the UK ( although I am doing a day of bloodstock this year) this is just another aspect I find really annoying. Brutal Assault, summer breeze, into the grave all coming up announced their time schedules in previous weeks, Graspop, full force, hellfest and wacken always a good month ahead, yet download and bloodstock choose to do it on the week of the festival itself. Just another little gripe in a long list of stuff that bugs me.

The one year I went to download they posted the times nearly 2 months in advance (2013), so unless they drastically vary from year to year it seems to be a bloodstock specific thing.

They did manage about 2 weeks in advance in 2016 after strong calls to release them earlier including a good handful of direct requests to do so from the Rocksoc feedback list, but have drifted back to the usual last minute now for some reason.

I seem to remember last year times appeared on the app much earlier than we're used to, but they didn't announce via any other medium until the week of. But given that they've stated a date this time around I'm not holding my breath for that again.

No problem guys! I agree that it is pretty annoying that they release the times so late. I hate discovering new bands that I really want to see, only to discover at the last minute that they're clashing. That's why I thought keeping up to date with the Clashfinder this year would help me, and others, avoid that scenario. Hopefully it's pretty accurate and the organisers don't suddenly decide to change the running order at the last minute

This is part of the reason why I think I've decided this years Bloodstock will probably be my last. That and the complete shambles of getting into the festival has gradually made most of my mates drift away already. Looking at more of the smaller festivals and also foreign ones again.

It's a shame but I think they have lost all the "by the fans for the fans" and its now a cash cow for the few.

Understandable, reckon I'll be doing the same if I have to spend 4 hours in the entrance queue again.

The queue was really awful. I really hope they have a better system this year.

Imagine if it was raining! It would indeed put me off returning.

Just for reference, the "By the fans for the fans" was never meant to be "we run the festival how you guys want," it was a statement that they themselves were fans, i.e. it's independently run as opposed to some giant company who doesn't care about the music calling the shots.

I don't ever turn up until the Friday so I've never been in the queue. I do think they should be cut some flack for last year though because they had heightened security so they needed to search everything. Probably just following police guidelines. It was in the wake of the Graspop issue last year.

It will be pretty dreadful if the sun is blazing down on us and the temperature is 30C. :(

What happened at Graspop? I thought the heightened security was in the wake of the suicide bombing at Manchester Arena.

Sorry it was rock am ring that got evacuated not graspop . I remember Vicky at the time being asked by people about whether they'd be more security because of it.
