As for Slipknot vs Manowar, I don't really have a horse in the race (enjoy both without loving either), but Slipknot are so much bigger in the UK its not even funny. Slipknot are a Download headliner sized band. Manowar - if they priced themselves correctly - would likely be a BOA headliner (on rarity). If you actually had to judge them based on attendances, there would be an argument to place them in a sub slot I think.

5pts - Devin Townsend
4pts - Clutch
3pts - Helloween
2pts - Accept
1pt - Anthrax

Usually I would place Clutch 4th, but I think them being the only one not to have played (out of the 5 I'm voting for) means they get a small bump from me.

Btw, as for the placement of bands, I was thinking for the top bands on each stage:

Friday
Headliner - 3rd most points (SABATON)
Sub - most points
Other 1 hour slot - 2nd most points

Saturday
Headliner - 2nd most points (ALICE COOPER)
Sub - 3rd most points
Other 1 hour slot - most points

Sunday
Headliner - most points (MANOWAR)
Sub - 2nd most points
Other 1 hour slot - 3rd most points

5pts - Behemoth
4pts - Anthrax
3pts - Accept
2pts - Dimmu Borgir
1pt - Carcass

In terms of bands I like Kreator and Clutch would definitely be high up in this list but I think 2019 is to soon for Kreator and I excluded Clutch as I think the special guest should be a metal band

Oh gods no, saw them at Sonisphere and it was utterly dreadful. Plus Manowar are probably on the edge of affordability, Slipknot are nowhere near.

I prefer Slipknot out of the two but even I'd side for Manowar here, if only due to the rarity rule.

1-Devin Townsend
2-Anthrax
3-In Flames
4-Kreator
5- Clutch

Is that your preferred order (ie Devin 1st) or points (Deivn = 1 pt)?

Assuming it was ranking (Devin = 5, Clutch = 1), then the latest scores would be:

29 Helloween
20 Devin Townsend
19 Anthrax
13 Behemoth
12 Accept / Kreator
11 Dimmu Borgir
10 Clutch / In Flames
8 Ministry
7 Carcass

Shit. I forgot about Danzig!

Could he go 3rd down, or is he too big?

Although I would argue for swapping Alice Cooper out for a more contemporary band to offer more variety and appeal to a wider audience, I guess that's not how this poll works

For special guests:

5 points: Devin Townsend
4 points: Ministry
3 points: In Flames
2 points: Anthrax
1 point: Carcass

I've gone for the heavier bands to avoid the top of the bill becoming too classic/power dominated and also gone for bands that haven't played before or not for a while.

I think two-ish days seems a decent enough time to get votes in, whilst allowing us to move this along at a decent clip. With that in mind...

Final scores:

33 - Helloween
26 - Anthrax
25 - Devin Townsend
20 - Accept / Dimmu Borgir
14 - Behemoth / Kreator
13 - In Flames
12 - Ministry
10 - Clutch
8 - Carcass

Which means our tentative line-up now looks something like this:

Friday
Headliner - 3rd most points (SABATON)
Sub - most points (HELLOWEEN)
Other 1 hour slot - 2nd most points

Saturday
Headliner - 2nd most points (ALICE COOPER)
Sub - 3rd most points (DEVIN TOWNSEND)
Other 1 hour slot - most points

Sunday
Headliner - most points (MANOWAR)
Sub - 2nd most points (ANTHRAX)
Other 1 hour slot - 3rd most points

I might be tempted to switch Helloween and Devin. Saying that, when we do the Sophie headliner, we could always pick something drastically different.

Next up, bands in the other 1 hour long slot!
Examples from recent years: Testament, Hatebreed, Skindred, Venom, Paradise Lost, Symphony X, Overkill, Death To All, Cannibal Corpse, Children of Bodom, Saxon.

Please nominate three bands. All bands with 2+ nominations will make the final poll (so, don't 'waste' a nomination if you see a band already has 2 noms).

Have at it!

Accept could probably fit the one hour slot so going for them again.

Accept
Gamma Ray
Electric Wizard

EDIT: Taken Tankard off for now, definitely not big enough in UK for third down.
