Make an exception and stretch the fantasy criteria a bit and make him a Sophie headliner?

Meshuggah aren't in the list, I'm going to assume this was for My Dying Bride.

Scores:

35 - Exodus
32 - Saxon
31 - Overkill / Accept
29 - Abbath
21 - My Dying Bride
11 - Children of Bodom
8 - Gamma Ray
7 - Epica

Is there anyone else left to vote? Could do with splitting Overkill, Accept and Abbath definitively.

I'll take that as a no.

Okay, I will make a ruling on this one. Whilst I prefer Accept, I think the bill we are building probably needs Overkill more for the diversity.

Therefore, our top three on each day now looks like this:

Friday
Headliner - 3rd most points (SABATON)
Sub - most points (HELLOWEEN)
Other 1 hour slot - (SAXON)

Saturday
Headliner - 2nd most points (ALICE COOPER)
Sub - 3rd most points (DEVIN TOWNSEND)
Other 1 hour slot - (EXODUS)

Sunday
Headliner - most points (MANOWAR)
Sub - 2nd most points (ANTHRAX)
Other 1 hour slot - (OVERKILL)

At this point, I think we should switch over the the Sophie stage headliners. With how our bill is looking, we could definitely do with something heavy on our Friday, and probably Saturday too. Sunday could be a bit of a free for a fall, anything goes.

So, you know the drill, nominate THREE bands you think could HEADLINE the SOPHIE stage. As before, all bands receiving a minimum of two nominations will be put forward for the vote (if there aren't many - minimum of 6 or 7 really - then I'll fill randomly pick a few with 1 nom to fill out the list).

My three:

Kvelertak
Between the Buried and Me
Carach Angren

Don't like Anthrax OR Overkill, plus Overkill have played MUCH more recently than Accept so not happy with that executive decision, and not sure how three thrash bands provides more variety - means three thrash bands rather than three classic heavy metal bands, if you don't consider Manowar to be power metal.

Sophie headliners is a bit difficult to gauge size but going to go with these.

Batushka - by no means my favourite black metal band, and already seen them twice, so without a new album wouldn't be the most interesting...but they would go down a treat late at night and are constantly requested. Would work much better as Sophie headliner than a 3pm mainstage appearance.

Sunn O))) - always go down well wherever they play, metal festival or other appearance, and been a long while since Temples where they last did a metal festival in UK, seen them at Hellfest in 2016. Would certainly balance out the cheese to be found in all three headliners.

Marduk - one of those bands where hard to judge whether mainstage or Sophie is better for them, but I'd much rather see them do 75 minutes late night than 45 at 3pm

I'd like to say Electric Wizard, but given their last two shows in London were at the Roundhouse and Koko I'd say they're too big, and I'm surprised no one backed them when I suggested them earlier as I'd say they're easily top 3 mainstage size. Would also like to say Demolition Hammer given the rarity factor, however seeing they're doing Lords of the Land, and Exhorder's placing this year it's unlikely they'd get that slot.

Overkill followed by Anthrax is heavenly for me but disappointing for those who don't like thrash...a shame that Abbath didn't get that spot, would have made the evening a bit more diverse!

I'm more than happy to re-assign the bands to different days for balance.

Would everyone be happy with the suggested order ioth put forth?

Yeah I'm liking i0th's day splits, spreads out the thrash and power metal nicely across the three days.

As for Sophie headliners, my suggestions are:

- Electric Wizard - Biggest stoner/doom band in the UK yet haven't played BOA yet. Would be awesome to see late at night in the tent.

- Shining - Swedish version as a rare black metal headliner.

- Autopsy - As a rare death metal headliner.

My Sophie stage got dark  Are we nominating Thursday night sophie headliners too? If so, I vote Andrew W.K. as the ultimate party warm up!

Myrkur
Moonsorrow
Wolfchant (if you're allowing Summoning then I'd change for these, seems a bit far fetched, though!)

I'm also with i0th's splits.

Here's the point where everyone's just going to pick different bands. I sure am.

My Dying Bride - noone picked them for top three bands and they've be better indoors anyway.

Powerwolf - yeah I know we have loads of power metal. What's one more?

Summoning - it does say fantasy booking. I know they never play live, but still think they would destroy the slot. If we're not accepting them replace them with Batushka I suppose.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!
