Okay, so that's that then. Our 9 bands are:
Candlemass, Primordial, Tankard, Myrkur, Heidevolk, Sacred Reich, Turisas, Death Angel and Finntroll as our 9 bands.

I suggest we split Tankard, Reich and Death Angel across the three days. Of the others, maybe keep Turisas, Heidevolk and Finntroll separate too.

Size wise, I think we generally have a few bands that are smaller than play 4th down, so I'll go approximately with how we voted for them. With that in mind, how is this for the layout?

Friday
Sabaton
Anthrax
Saxon
Tankard
Myrkur
Turisas

Sophie: My Dying Bride

Saturday
Alice Cooper
Helloween
Exodus
Primordial
Sacred Reich
Finntroll

Sophie: Moonsorrow

Sunday

Manowar
Devin Townsend
Overkill
Candlemass
Heidevolk
Death Angel

Sophie: Powerwolf

Okay, so we have 3 more main stage slots to go. I suggest a similar system to before. How does the following breakdown work for peeps:

4x Extreme bands (I still think we're a little short on this front, so some black, death or maybe even grind or something)
4x Melodic bands (other end of the spectrum - doesn't make sense to not have some power / melodic heavy etc on the bill with how we have built it so far)
3x Prog / Post (Bookings like Andromeda, Agalloch, Ghost Bath etc seem to have gone down well in recent years, and our line-up is lacking a smidge on this front).
1x Anything Goes.

And you've even managed to miss Myrkur off the bill entirely

Surely Primordial wouldn't be 4th down! And yeah, Myrkur is missing from Friday.

My bands:
Fen, Batushka, Crotchduster, Swallow the Sun
Evergrey, Edguy, Amorphis, Galneryus
Diablo Swing Orchestra, Pain of Salvation, Leprous, Avatarium

Extreme(ish!): Borknagar, Crimfall, Deadlock
Melodic: Angel Dust, Dakesis, Beast In Black
Prog/post: Not a clue. I know nothing about this at all!
Other: Jizzy Pearl
CH3NO2 -- It's the only way to be sure

Extreme - Horrendous, Warcrab, Vreid
Melodic/power - Reign of Fury, Visigoth, Atlantean Kodex
Prog/post - Gandalf's Fist, Solstafir (yes they're too big for an early slot but it's criminal they've never played!!), Harakiri for the Sky
Other - Blaze Bayley (I know plenty will argue he'd be higher up the bill but he generally plays tiny venues and would probably welcome a mid day slot at Bloodstock)

I was worried about the high number of power bands to start with but spread across the three days it actually looks pretty balanced.

Extreme bands: Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation, Obscura, Dying Fetus
Melodic bands: Eluveitie, Scar Symmetry, Ne Obliviscaris
Prog/Post: Deafheaven, Wolves in the Throne Room, Prong, Solstafir
Anything Goes: Warbringer

Added Myrkur in.
As for Primordial, I suspect we didn't actually select many bands that would usually play 4th down, so just spread them across evenly. All those bands we added would get the same time based on BOA's timetable - 45 mins.

I have a feeling this is where we all diverge and I have to create a list of about 30 or so bands to vote on haha

Extreme: Chthonic, Kalmah, Whispered, Borknagar
Melodic: Beast In Black, Battle Beast, Unleash The Archers, Lovebites (I know they're playing this year but I'd love to see them on the main stage)
Prog: Brutai, Destiny Potato (if they still exist?), Boris
Other: Lost Society

And a number of people don't seem to like ACTUAL extreme metal, so we get these watered down versions that are really just folk or post.

I'm one of them ;-) But equally, people here are claiming bands with harsh vocals are melodic, which is just as daft.

I mean you have melodic death and black metal, but most of those bands are total arse, especially MDM, but yeah I get your point. I didn't suggest any harsh vocal bands in the melodic part though.

Yeah that's the trouble with suggesting by genre, some people would like to go one way others another. I probably picked bands better suited to the Sophie stage, because I don't like that many bigger extreme metal bands, whereas someone else would be the opposite. Not limiting people might just lead to loads of power metal though - not that thats a bad thing.

None of my favourite extreme metal bands are suitable for Bloodstock, but I have picked ones which are - I'll go to Kill Town and Never Surrender for the true kvlt shit, but some of these picks don't really even count.
