Well I've pretty much got 6 each day there, so for my tastes I'm going to say 666 is nicely balanced

For my tastes this would be a great weekend. I still think there's far too little extreme/death metal on it for it to be viable in the real world though. The Friday is crying out for a Morbid Angel/Deicide band around third spot to balance things out. But I'd go for sure. Which is more than I can say for the real Bloodstock this year

5 - Chthonic, Fen, Wolves in the Throne Room

3 - Anathema, Battle Beast, Vuur
2 - Alcest, Edguy, Eluveitie
1 - Angra, Solstafir, Whispered
Which gives us the following final scores:
24 - Power Trip
23 - Alcest / Edguy
21 - Unleash the Archers
20 - Battle Beast / Borknagar / Chthonic / Warbringer / Wolves in the Throne Room
19 - Anathema / Twilight Force
18 - Eluveitie
17 - Blaze Bayley / Fen / Whispered
16 - Solstafir
14 - Ne Obliviscaris
13 - Einherjer
12 - Dying Fetus
11 - Boris / Vuur
10 - Angra
8 - Galneryus
7 - Beast In Black
5 - Leprous
Which means our 9 bands are:
Power Trip, Alcest, Edguy, Unleash the Archers, Battle Beast, Borknagar, Chthonic, Warbringer, Wolves in the Throne Room
Suggested line-up:
Friday
Sabaton
Anthrax
Saxon
Tankard
Myrkur
Turisas
Chthonic
Alcest
Battle Beast
Sophie: My Dying Bride
Saturday
Alice Cooper
Helloween
Exodus
Primordial
Sacred Reich
Finntroll
Wolves in the Throne Room
Power Trip
Unleash the Archers
Sophie: Moonsorrow
Sunday
Manowar
Devin Townsend
Overkill
Candlemass
Heidevolk
Death Angel
Edguy
Borknagar
Warbringer
Sophie: Powerwolf
How do they look? We want to mix and match any of them?
Looking pretty good. I would suggest maybe bumping Turisas up above Myrkur on the Friday. In fact, Myrkur and Chthonic both strike me as better suited to the Sophie stage. Perhaps one could be swapped for an extreme band like Soze suggested?
I would also bump Sacred Reich and possibly Finntroll above Primordial on the Saturday seems as they were only third up when they played in 2014.

there's not a huge amount I actively listen to on here (I'm still shocked you all prefer Overkill to Accept), but the stuff that I don't is still pretty decent and there's almost no one I'd want to actively avoid, whereas this year I can't stand the majority of the lineup.

I'd definitely go to it!
But it does need a few more extreme acts to sell to the size of crowd you would need to fund it.

I'd say Edguy should swap places with Heidevolk on Sunday, Primordial should move down a few places and Turisas up a couple. Overall though its a great lineup for my tastes.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

I think moving Myrkur to the Sophie is a great idea, as a possible special guest slot? They'd be much better in there. I'd put Heidivolk and probably Alcest in there too, which would leave room for a bit of raucous death metal for those who would be missing that sort of thing.

I'd get a ticket to that for sure

Swap Helloween and Devin around, think they would work better leading into the headliners than as they are now.

I'd go for this if we're doing Sophie stage as well, as those bands would defo benefit from being in the tent. Think they'd fall a bit flat on main.

I'm happy to carry this one for a bit if we want to work on Sophie stage bands. Definitely think we need some heavier bands on the bill in general.
Re: Fantasy Booking: An Experiment - The Forum Books BOA '19
I don't think we need to go into too much depth with the Sophie bands, as beyond the top couple of bands each day they're normally fairly obscure. But I definitely think the line up would look better if you took a few from the main stage and replaced them with some death metal.

I never really know more than 3-4 bands on the Sophie stage and sometimes its just the headliner I recognize (and like most people on here, I'm a massive metal nerd).
We just need to add 1- 2 extreme bands to each day to give it a bit more credibility as a realistic line-up (if that's what we are aiming for).
However, I'd say the experiment that was set out is pretty much done. It went the way I would have guessed tbh. What we have looks about right for the more melody inclined forum imo.
However, I bet a few years ago their would have been even more melodic/power/trad bands in there.

Iv got 5 bands a day so far and while that is decent enough numbers wise its mostly from 2 genres, Folk and Thrash.
Folk is my favourite genre so would love to see it get this much support but tbh the lack of Death / Black etc means id probably actually favour the line ups produced by the normal system overall
