I can see a new lineup of gym gear and the return of the an expanded strongman comp being announced at BOA for next year......

Sabaton or Immortal being announced at the festival. With Five Finger Death Punch and Slayer being announced later in the year.

No way will they expand, they haven't even sold out this year yet with Priest headlining, despite telling everyone for the last 2 months they're close to selling out.

I've a feeling that quite a few people are waiting for day tickets to go on sale. I know some who are just popping down on the Friday and then sodding off as the rest is mostly shite.

You'll probably also get some wanting to come to Download Sunday and not be interested in the rest.

After the hellfest announcement I'm think Manowar will headline and be announced at this years' festival. Slayer wouldn't surprise me either

So Hellfest have just announced Manowar, Slayer and Carcass for next year! :o I guess that means Slayer and Carcass are possibilities for BOA but how about Manowar? Too expensive?

Let’s hope Slayer do Download as a farewell instead.

And here come all the tedious Manowar rumours the for next 6 months or so

I know promoters like to exaggerate but if Vicky and Adam were touting this as an announcement that would make some of the fans really happy, I can't see it being Slayer as they've already headlined twice and it doesn't exactly have much of a 'wow' factor.

I'm actually more inclined to think it will be Manowar. Similar to Priest, Manowar were a band that a large section of the fanbase were constantly asking for and everyone began to believe were out of reach. Now they've finally got Priest, then maybe Manowar isn't so un-achievable after all...

Sadly, if Manowar are one of the headliners, you can bet your arse that at least one, if not both of the other headliners will be far more on the commercial/mainstream end (e.g. Lamb of God and Slayer in 2013 when King Diamond headlined or Machine Head and Alice Cooper in 2012 when Behemoth headlined)

Slayer are doing there farewell tour in November. Then, that's it according to Kerry King. No one offs, no surprise appearances. He even said that he'll be taking a break then coming back with a new band or something like that.

Then you may wish to take a look at the video from Hellfest last week - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLGTf26fdRM

I do think Slayer are calling it quits, but that this winter's shows are the last headlining shows, and then they'll do a final festival run in the summer
