Camping problem

Postby Raj1688 » Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:59 am

Hi

I am going to be there on the weekend ticket with camping. However, I will not be able to bring tent and other camping stuff since I am traveling from India.

I would prefer to be able to bunk with someone willing, with a spare bed in a tent.

So is there a ready made solution for my situation? I am a first timer, don't know how it works.
If not, what are the chances I will find someone kind enough to offer me a bed on the spot on Friday night when I arrive there?

Don't know about anything official but here's a couple of options:

There's an onsite camping gear shop where you can order online and pickup at site - http://fatfrankscampingshop.com/

Try the Loners & Newbies group on Facebook.

Bloodstock's a friendly crowd, but I'd imagine tent sharing for the weekend is something only offered to close mates and those in relationships.

I0th's suggestion is probably the most reliable solution. There's also the possibility of trying a local superstore (I think there's a big Tesco in nearby Lichfield) and seeing if they have everything you need to survive. The potential downside of that is that they might have sold out of tents, sleeping bags or other camping essentials. If I was in your positiom I'd go for what I0th suggested.
If it sounds good, listen to it

Give this a go.

To find somewhere to sleep, I don't think anyone would be willing to share a tent with a complete stranger they've never met.

See if someone in the group would be willing to bring a spare tent for you. Or, pick one up in whatever city you're flying in to - or try to get one in Lichfield on the way to the festival.

The festival camping store should be your last resort - there's no guarantee that they'd sell a decent tent. Some lads camped next to us last year had to use those popup sun shade things as they didn't sell real tents.
