Convincing Slayer that their farewell tour's final UK show shouldn't be Download.
Final, right.

Although I would be surprised if they didn't try and book Slayer.

I hope we don't get Slayer a 3rd time as headliner, rather have someone different or again someone promoted up to a headline slot.

Unfortunately probably rules out Manowar, can't see us having 2 power metal headliners.

Anyone other than Slayer (and Megadave) please!

Wholly agree with the sentiment, but even I (who really doesn't like thrash) would accept either of these over Trivium or Parkway Drive

I'd happily give Parkway Drive a go (surprisingly enjoyed their latest album), though I'd rather they didn't headline.

They're more of a thing than ever, obviously. Despite the quality of their albums plummeting recently, it's difficult to argue with their popularity - Tet says Brixton Academy wasn't sold out last year, well I can say if it wasn't sold out, then it was damn close. Plus a top 20 UK album, and massively popular with the BOA crowd.

After attending the awesome Brutal Assault fest last year, I can't see my self heading back to BOA anytime soon, and this fun but safe and bland booking hasn't changed that.

You could work around that by stating that Manowar aren't power metal, they're metal ?

Is it safe to assume a Dimmu / Bodom kind of band for Saturday ?

At this point I literally have no idea's on who the other headliners might be (with the exception of possibly Slayer). I actually think Ghost might be a possibility to return on the Saturday night and Clutch as a special guest one day. Providing there are heavier headliners on the Sophie stage it might work!

Ah, another mainstream band we got to headline after a dud of an album; just like how it worked well for Trivium

They're ok, one of the few power metal bands I like but not exactly exciting for me.

I fully expect Slayer to headline Sunday again, and my bet for Saturday right now is Parkway Drive. They seem to be getting a lot of hype lately, are the right kind of mainstream band that they like, and they seem to be touring too. I really hope I'm wrong, can't stand either band, and Sabaton aren't exactly going to entice me in.

Id say really the options are Slayer, LoG, Manowar, Parkway Drive, Killswitch, Opeth, Devin Townsend, Helloween...Scorpions?...Manson?

Sabaton rules out Helloween and probably Manowar
Would hope it isnt PD or Killswitch or anything of that ilk
Would assume Opeth wouldnt get bunked up to headline
Devy is unlikely but would be great
And they probably wouldnt book both LoG and Slayer so will probably be one of those
Scorpions may be too big?

Amon Amarth have an album out in 2019
King Diamond should have one out also
Alice Cooper has headlined before
Deep Purple could headline Sunday, perhaps? And Definitely Whitesnake over any nu-metal or shouty/clean/shouty stuff (not Coverdale`s voice i`m referring too either)
Didn't Savatage headline Wacken or something?
The Misfits with Danzig
Even Faith no More

Anything but the Kerrang bands listed previously

Also wayyyyyyyy too boring. If I never see that band again it will be too soon.
