I thought they were too expensive, I imagine they're the marquee name this year

Can't say I'm not a little disappointed its not Manowar, but that is a quality announcement.

Although I'm only familiar with a couple of Scorpions songs (recommendations for their best albums to start with would be appreciated!) this is a great booking for the festival and they've been requested a lot. Cool to see that Mikkey Dee is drumming for them now too! Hopefully we'll get a heavier Saturday headliner now or some heavy Sophie headliners!

That's a surprising one, not massively familiar with their stuff so will have to give them a proper listen. Relived it's not fucking slayer though. Guess they must be doing download then.

Would they biggest headliner BOA have ever had? I'd say only Alice Cooper and Judas Priest come close.

A great place to start is with the World Wide Live album, features most of their more famous songs and gives you an idea of the band at their peak. Other than that I'd recommend Blackout, Love Drive, Love at First Sting and Animal Magnetism as their best records.

Not bad, even though I've never really gotten into them I'll watch them. The mother in law loves them so I'll probably have to suffer her getting a day ticket cos of this though! :(

Sunday is looking a little soft so far though with scorpions, queensryche and dee snider. Think it needs someone like Behemoth as special guests to balance it out

Very happy with this, brilliant way to finish Sunday night!

Fully expecting something pretty heavy on Saturday now, Behemoth/Dimmu top 2 for Saturday?

Would Behemoth be SG though? I'd say they're likely as final headliner.

Last time they headlined they weren't really big enough for it, but now they're on the line for being almost too big for SG and just about big enough for headliner.

Scorpions are a monumental headliner for BOA, their first truly elite band.

I can see it looking like this now -

Sabaton
Children of Bodom
Overkill

Dimmu Borgir
Powerwolf
Cradle of Filth

Scorpions
Epica
Queensryche

Much as I love Dimmu there is no way they're going to be headliners, probably 3rd down.

It seems a lot of people are genuinely surprised that Bloodstock were able to pull this one out of the bag. Are Scorpions actually bigger than Priest? I'm interested to know!
