It said anniversary. Think of a wedding anniversary or Jubilee. HM the Queen come to the throne in 1952. The Silver Jubilee was in 1977. That's the Twenty Fifth Anniversary. We weren't putting out the bunting in 1978...
Not amount of festivals either (are you not counting the Christmas one?).

Here's another example.
It's the 190th anniversary of the Rainhill Trials tomorrow. 1829 - 2019.

If people are going to be pedantic then at least know what you are talking about.

Re: Next Announcement
I think they're counting it by years as opposed to number of festivals so 2001-2020 is 20 years if you include 2001.

Re: Next Announcement
I love that this thread has turned into nerding about dates.
Any word on decent New Blood / Jaeger bands at all ?

Re: Next Announcement
Bastard were exceptional in all 3 rounds of the Norwich M2TM competition. Looking forward to seeing them on New Blood and pray they don't clash with anyone I want to see.

Cheers for that, couple that look like good shouts if they don't clash - hoping that Master's Call will be on Saturday afternoon, unless the running order has been confirmed & I'm about to be disappointed ?

Love the fact they haven't even bothered to give the band's genres. That doesn't seem like a good sign to me.

Aye, really does seem that they've just thrown them out there; would of liked a few links to their songs.
Re: Next Announcement
There are descriptions and videos for each band when you click their logo on the line up page if that's any use

From their own pages / facebook / the Archives (where they exist)
28 Double - Heavy Rock (they cite Alter Bridge and Clutch)
Aesect - Metalcore
Bastard - "aggro hardcore"
Deformation of Man - Groove
Djinova - Deathcore
Inferiem - Metalcore
Master's Fall - Black Metal
Take Refuge - Metalcore

Re: Next Announcement
Deformation of Man are broadly speaking groove metal, with aspects of metalcore, a touch of sludge and a bit of extreme metal.

The order of the bands is usually loosely correct. Saying that, bands can be added either side of them / in between them and there is ALWAYS one band that is hilariously miles out of place on the poster compared to their slot.

Re: Next Announcement
Why is there so much metalcore? (there ofter is tbh)
I was really hopping Old Season would win in Dublin, as there a great epic doom band, but nope, more metalcore! Urg.

My brother drums in a -core band, and the local scene is all variations on "what are you angry about now ?!"-core - lots of big lads in vests with terrible band names, who all grew up on WWE, Avenged Sevenfold, and energy drinks. They turn out & vote for more of the same.
It's like punk coming round again, with the same beery old Priest and Sabbath fans (or their sons) STILL moaning about the kids
