Apparently we have to wait a couple of weeks before an announcement is made, who has a few tour dates finishing in the next couple of weeks. Let the wild speculation and educated guessing begin

It's Sabaton's turn on the yearly alternation of the two most boring bands in modern metal in them and Gojira, so I expect them in a headline slot this time.

I dont like Sabaton and wouldnt watch them but think they would be a solid headliner booking for the festival and a no brainer really given its their 20th anniversary.

I'm also not interested in watching Sabaton, I would hope they would be on the Sunday night so I can go home early again. Despite my dislike of them I can, as with Nightwish, see how they would be a good and timely choice for Bloodstock for '19, just hope BS get them on the right day

I can't possibly fathom how someone could not have a good time watching Sabaton. I've known people who don't like them walk away from a live gig saying they'd had a blast. But each to their own I guess. I'd be more than happy with a Sabaton headline slot and at this point, I'd be amazed if it didn't happen.

Sabaton are one of those bands who have been fantastic every time I've seen them. I for one will be most pleased to see them back at Bloodstock in a richly deserved headline role.

whatever happened to the pre-BOA2018 festival statement that there would be a huge announcement at the fest but not related to the bands ?

I presume on the basis that nothing was said, that Catton Hall (or Catton Park as they are now referring to them on the website); have extended the lease or arranged a move to another part of their land, rather than the fest possibly relocating to Pentrich as was widely speculated.

I did wonder about that as there was a deafening silence all weekend re the announcement.

This has to be the longest we have gone without not a single band being announced so far. Since I started attending in 2015 there have always been a couple of bands announced over the festival weekend.

I remember being at Damnation for the first bands of 2017, so that's November. Its not even close to the longest wait, its not even September yet, the festival was only 2 weeks ago.

I had got it into my head that there was always a couple of bands for the following year announced over the weekend of BOA.
