Not heard of either of the mainstage additions, but all 6 of the bands for the Sophie are great choices. A cracking Thursday night line up once again.

Looks like I was right not to give a shit about this announcement then.

I like Countless Skies and Footprints in the Custard. I'd probably watch Sulpher and All Hail the Yeti. Nothing inspiring again though. Hoping they have at least one more trick up their sleeves.

I really don't know when we're gonna learn. Every year around this time, people still speculate about names like Overkill, Destruction, Equilibrium, Vio-lence (just to use some examples from the last couple of pages) and when the announcement comes out, it just ends up being nobodies. I think it's pretty clear that we've had all the 'name' bands we're gonna get now.

Countless Skies are one of my favourite bands. Footprints in the Custard are great fun (perfect for Thursday). The rest are terrible or unknowns to me, but judging on the descriptions, doesn't look like I'll enjoy any of them. I will give a listen to everyone though before my final judgement.

The Thursday looks terrible. We've had bands like Skiltron, Bloodshot Dawn and Wind Rose leading up to the Thursday headliners. To jump from a band the size of Ten Ton Slug to the internationally recognised Rotting Christ is ridiculous! I expected more of a gradient in how well known the bands are like the previous couple of years.

Happy with countless skies especially as they are on the only day I’m going!

No idea about the main stage additions. Still a Friday slot free as well.

There's more lines about the strongman competition than there is about the bands. I guess whoever wrote the announcement struggled to think of anything noteworthy to say about this batch of bands!

wow, I got an album by them way back in 2002 or something, they#re actually good industrial metal stuff.

The rest of this announcement however is utter drivel.

Been on youtube and my thoughts so far:

All Hail the Yeti - fucking terrible, shouty bollocks and seems to be the way BOA is going.
Krysthla - not my thing at all
Ten Ton Slug - saw them last time they played and will watch them again.
Barbarian Hermit - don't mind them and will give them a shot
Blind River - missed their set in 2017 but will prob give them a shot
Footprints in the Custard - great last time they played and will watch them again
Countless Skies - not sure at all about them but will give them a chance.
Bong Cauldron - I like it, will check them out
Sulpher - had never heard if them before today, oh yes indeedy! Very much my thing.

Nothing amazing but more than enough for me to check out and hopefully enjoy.

Very good announcement for me

Ten Ton Slug and Bong Cauldron are great.

Heard Footprints in the Custards are really fun live and somehow always missed them before

Barbarian Hermit and Countless Skies are both decent additions ill watch happily with a beer

Need to give the rest a listen

Well that pretty much puts paid to any lingering thoughts I had of going. After a promising initial couple of announcements this year's line up has again completely failed to inspire me. I don't know if I'm just old and out of touch with what people like in the metal scene nowadays but there are only 2-3 bands per day I'd have any real desire to watch. I used to go to Bloodstock with a group of 20-30. I think 3 of them are going this year :(

Apart from KRYSTHLA I would go and see all these bands, great announcement in my view. Footprints in the custard are great and ten ton slug were also good last time!

I look at one page of the wishlist and see none of these bands however. I guess finding the right fit and available bands isn't that easy.

Personals tastes always prevail over what to see of course

Not sure I will worry about the strong people, bring back the Knights beating each other I say!
