There's equally bizarre things on the line up, i.e.:

- Tesseract being on the same level as Cradle Of Filth and Queensryche
- Dimmu Borgir having a higher slot than Cradle Of Filth
- Rotting Christ being on the Thursday
- Evil Scarecrow being above Swallow The Sun
- Parkway Drive being on the bill at all

Do enjoy a spot of Witch Tripper. Will see them barring any clashes.

Witch Tripper are a great addition, the rest I've either not heard of or haven't seen. More music for the listening pile, always makes I happy.

Yeah, this is my exact view of the announcement. Never expect to know any bands in announcements at this stage, but it's always good to discover new ones!

They really don't care about the Sophie stage do they? I'd maybe watch Witch Tripper and Damnation's Hammer, but I'm not really fussed on them.

Sulpher are an interesting one. Assuming it's the same band, I saw them supporting Christian Death nearly 20 years ago. I quite liked them at the time, but haven't heard anything from them since then.

Its weird really the big main stage bands haven't been to my taste this year apart from powerwolf, sabaton and soulfly. I know very little of the bands in today's announcement but I'm not against doing my homework before hand. I am actually really looking forward to the unknowns this year

It is the same band, I saw them at an industrial fest in 2001. I think they've only ever done 1 album, I have it though and it's good.

Nope, at this stage it's just more pub bands to not get excited about.

Oh. It's the rather average Dark Wave style Sulpher and not the Norwegian Black Metal band then...

There are a few great bands on the Sophie this year that I will be happy to watch, but I do feel that the overall level of the bands playing (headliners aside) is far lowerthan previously....oris that just me getting old and grumpy

Most of these Sophie bands are playing at a lot of smaller rock festivals in the UK this year, there's nothing really that grabs your attention. Bands like Sulpher play on the 3rd stage at festivals such as Amplified.

If BOA keep booking smaller bands on bigger stages, it won't be long until these smaller festivals are bigger than BOA.
