Looks like it, doesn’t seem to be any space left for other stages.

Classless from Manowar too if that sound check issue was the case. Complete downer for the fans indeed.

Also, are Bloodstock announcing a 2020 headliner at the fest this year?

Few more Jager bands as well

Can see them at Download again tbh, probably as main sub

I figure Saxon will be there too as they headlined the first year and 2020 is the 20th anniversary. Saxon have also said they have some special shows lined up for 2020.

Saxon in the sunshine would be glorious. Especially if Biff turns up and enjoys himself.

Any recommendations on Volbeat ? I'd naively assumed (via the name) that they were another parkwaytriviumarchibullet-core band, so never bothered !

I imagine that Manowar are right out of contention already now ?

I did a listen through of their discography a few years ago. Here's the songs I liked the most from each one -

The Strength/The Sound/The Songs
Soulweeper, Caroline #1, I Only Wanna Be With You

Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil
The Garden’s Tale, Soulweeper #2, You or Them

Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood
Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood, Back to Prom, I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry

Beyond Hell / Above Heaven
7 Shots, 16 Dollars, Warrior’s Call

Outlaw Gentlement & Shady Ladies
Cape of Our Hero, Room 24, The Hangman’s Body Count, Lonesome Rider

Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie
The Devil’s Bleeding Crown, Seal the Deal, Battleship Chains.

Were that true, it would arguably be the most underwhelming selection of headliners in Bloodstock's history for my tastes!

Aside from Volbeat, I'd be inclined to agree. Both Behemoth and Devin would bore me to tears

I'd be happy with Volbeat. I think the majority of Bloodstockers would be too.

They've never been in contention, their demands are way beyond what Bloodstock could afford or even want to bow down to. From Simon Hall's social media posts it's reasonable to presume the two have spoken before but got nowhere near an agreement.

Those 4 would go a long way in guaranteeing my attendance next year

Including the indoor festivals, there have been 20 Bloodstock festivals so far. So technically, this year is the 20th anniversary.

Anniversaries only happen once a year. So technically, 2021 is the 20th anniversary of the first Bloodstock which happened in 2001.

Amazing, everyone word you just said was wrong.

Erm, how? The first anniversary of something is it's second iteration. And if you count the number of indoor and outdoor festivals Bloodstock has had then that comes to a total of 20. So if the second festival is the first anniversary, the 21st festival (this year) is the 20th anniversary.

If I start running a weekly event today, it celebrates its first anniversary at this time next year, not this time next week.

In 2015 there was a special t shirt 2001-2015 celebrating 15 years...i.e 15 festivals in total....so this year is 15 + 4 = 19th Bloodstock

And thanks to the indoor/outdoor overlap, the 20th festival was actually last year.

Nope. Count it out rather than add.

2001,2,3,4.....2020

6x Indoor: 01,02,03,04,05,06
14x Outdoor: 05,06,07,08,09,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18

There's been 20 iterations of the festival already, so 2019 is the 21st iteration overall and the 18th anniversary.

This came up back in May - see my above post. :)

If an event first happens in 2001, then 2002 is its 1st anniversary. So, 2019 would actually be the 18th anniversary.
