Great announcement - Scorpions will be a perfect Sunday night band - hope they go for a heavier set without too much of the ballading though !

I'd be disappointed if they didn't slip a couple of slower ones in; Always Somewhere, Still Loving You or When The Smoke is Going Down rather than Winds of Change though

Oh agreed - a couple would be great; Still Loving You, Send Me an Angel - the wife would die for Wind of Change, so that'd make my life easier...

Why does everyone hate Wind of Change? :( It was the first Scorpions song I heard and I love it lol!

I generally prefer their slower songs. Wind of Change is great, Yellow Raven is too and Still Loving You is their best song. Hope they play them all.

Wouldn't disagree with any of that. First rock gig I ever went to was Marillion on their Misplaced Childhood tour. Love At First Sting was played between bands and although I had no idea who the album was by at the time, Still Loving You was the song that convinced me that I had to go out and start collecting that band's albums.

Fast forward 25 ish years and I saw Uli Jon Roth at The Flowerpot in Derby. Hearing Yellow Raven sent a shiver down my spine unlike all bar 2 or 3 songs i've ever heard.

To be honest, whatever setlist they put together, I couldn't name a single band I would prefer to see headlining the Sunday night at Bloodstock.

I don't hate it. But they've done far better ballads ("Still loving you", "Holiday", "When the smoke is going down", etc). That just happened to be the one that was most successful in the charts.

What was bloodstock thinking of when they booked Scorpions as headliners. Okay they was good back in the days but they was absolute shit a stone free festival at the O2 dome in London. Sorry to say but that was a poor booking.

They where far from shit at the O2. You could tell they where pacing themselves, yes, but it was still well played and well orchestrated show.

I think the massive crowd they will pull on the Sunday night would beg to differ.

I think you mean "they were", not "they was". I also think you were at a different Stone Free festival to the one I went to[1], because they were far from shit. They were easily the band of the day, by a fairly large margin.

[1] Perhaps because I was at the one at The O2 Arena, not The Dome ;-)

Was going to come back for my 2nd Bloodstock anyway but this has just ramped up the excitement for me. Been a fan since the early 80s, been to Europe a few times to see them but thought Ramblin Man would be the last time as they don't come here often. Perfect end to the festival for me.
