Hello everyone, Cormac from Camp Loners & Newbies here. Sorry for not visiting the forum much, Facebook pretty much does all the work now.

The camp is a way for people coming to Bloodstock alone or for the first time to meet others in the same position. There are regulars but everyone started out as a loner or newbie and we make sure everyone is welcome at the camp.

So if you don't have anyone to camp with this year, or it's your first Bloodstock, pop along with us, we'll make sure your weekend is one to remember.

We'll be in Valhalla, probably around the top right corner. Look for the testicle wearing sunglasses

Please be respectful and considerate to your fellow Loners, people have varying boundaries so let's be friendly!

Any questions give us a shout. We're most active on Facebook, so feel free to join in the link below.

 so that's what the 'winged bollock wearing sunglasses flag' looks like - I thought it might be a joke!

I don't do facebook or whatsapp (if I did I'd probably not be coming as a loner...) so I'll just see you there.

And folk thought I was joking when I said the flag was winged bollocks wearing sunglasses!

Yep. I think I would be on my own as well if I put that flag up.

The flag is fairly strange but hey it makes us all laugh hahaha. Don't be put off by the flag, we're all good people, just a dumb and silly sense of humor!

How do later arrivals know where camp loner ends and 'normal' camping begins? Is it hoped/expected that most people will head for midgard then start near the entrance of Valhalla so that's why you head for the back corner?

Camp Loner is in the back left corner of Valhalla down past where the ticket office is. There will be a big group together and hopefully the flag will be up. There is normally space nearby to pitch your tent, grab a drink and say hello. I camp in VIP these days but am a regular visitor to see my friends in the group.

So as a general plan: Look for flag, find space somewhere not far from it and put tent up so space can't be stolen, take chair and drink to flag and see who's about?

I was thinking it was an actual camp (group of tents) rather than a meeting place, though not sure how that would work as it sounds like a lot of people and you can't exactly annex a huge circle to camp around. I blame the pills :eyes:

We have requested a dedicated area but no official reply yet!

I suspect there are far too many groups that would want the same.

How lively is Camp Loner? I've just finished antibiotics and was expecting to be fully fit by Thursday, but I still feel crap. All hope is not lost but can't help thinking this could be a sober/early night 'festival' and maybe I'd be better in Ragnarok. Assuming I don't relapse and have to cancel that is

It is quite quiet in the corner of Valhalla but if you would be happier in Ragnarok just camp there and pop round to say hello. I camp in VIP these days but regularly visit the group.

You will be very welcome whether you are there for 5 mins or all weekend.

May well join you this year  - my group got whittled down by the lineup, and two more have managed to get adult chickenpox, so aren't coming...

Excellent, I have half a brain back today so hopefully the other half and my body will follow tomorrow  Silence by midnight when the bands finish at 5 to sounds optimistic and I don't fancy moving my tent in the dark...
