BLOODSTOCK 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT

Postby Aaaarrrrgggghhhh » Fri Aug 13, 2021 10:49 pm

#BOA22 ANNOUNCEMENT!

Headlining one of our days (tbd) on the Ronnie James Dio main stage will be mighty groove metal overlords, Lamb of God!

Saturday's main stage headliner will be the previously announced, King Diamond-fronted, heavy metal icons MERCYFUL FATE

Also landing main stage slots across the weekend are Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals playing their Pantera set, Dimmu Borgir, Testament, Exodus, The Black Dahlia Murder, GWAR (in a UK festival exclusive), Bury Tomorrow, Sacred Reich, Life Of Agony Butcher Babies, Vio-Lence Offical Page and Bloodywood

Over on the Sophie Lancaster stage, headlining Thursday night are The Night Flight Orchestra and closing out Sunday night will be Static-X in their only UK show of 2022. Also landing a slot across the weekend are Heathen

Early bird weekend camping tickets are available at the on-site box office across the duration of the 2021 event, then will go on sale online at 9am Monday 16th August, priced at £135 (+ bkg fee) from the ticket store, as well as Serpents Lair VIP tickets, child tix and camper van passes (which always sell out very quickly, so don’t snooze if you’re after one).

If you're not on site this weekend, set those alarms for Monday morning and SEE YOU IN THE PIT!

Middling announcement for me tbh.

Was interesting to hear the Anselmo announcement get booed in the arena.

Just grabbed some VIPs for next year.

Out of interest, the site didn't ask me about t-shirt sizes. Are they no longer in the VIP goody bag thing? Or did I miss something in my eagerness?

Really? (I was only there on the Saturday). That's good to hear.

Yeah, when they cycled through the names on the screen you got the usual small-to-large levels of cheers depending on the bands. When it got to Anselmo there was definitely an audible boo (some people cheered too). Was the only band to get a negative reaction.

I'm really pleased to hear that. There's bands I will definitely watch on that announcement and others I'll watch if there is nothing better on at the time. Anselmo on the other hand I guarantee I definitely won't watch. I wouldn't give the nasty racist piece of work the time of day
Television is the opium of the people

As an old-school thrash guy at heart, this was a great announcement and prompted me to get an early bird ticket for next year already.

Agree that there was a definite boo in the audience at the Anselmo announcement. I don't like Pantera anyway, and that plus his highly questionable reputation means I will be giving his performance as wide a berth as possible. I imagine many others will be doing the same.

Yup, Anselmo is an ass and many others will agree, will still get a full crowd and probably play a good set.

Heard some rumblings the final headliner may be Limp Bizkit. They are in Europe at the right sort of time, and have a gap on the Friday.

Maybe they are waiting for the UK dates to sell out before announcing.

Disappointing lack of Dark Tranquillity, disappointing presence of racist phil.

Testament: YES
Exodus: YES
Bloodywood: YES great to have them back

GWAR is a bit of a surprise; I didn't know they were still going. Should be a typically fun show though.
Mercyful Fate will be welcome.
I'll give Dimmu a shot. Same with Lamb of God. Neither particularly excite me though.
The rest I'll either actively avoid or embark on a journey of discovery on the day
If it sounds good, listen to it

Mate if you're a fan of Exodus and Testament then you've gotta catch Vio-Lence - saw them at the Alcatraz festival in Belgium 2 years ago and they totally killed it. Plus Eternal Nightmare is a classic 80s Bay Area thrash record (as I'm sure you know!)
