Perhaps unsurprisingly, the 2023 announcement was completely lackluster. Megadave and Killswitch Engage headlining, and some nobodies (including King 810, whom we can only hope multiple members get arrested before the fest this time and force them to cancel). Here's hoping for some better announcements soon!

Remember the old Good bad and ugly thread. Those were the days. Used to like reading them.

Zeal and Ardor are the only band announced for next year that are any good. Should have played a few years ago really. The rest just look like standard Bloodstock fare to me.

The number of core type bands is really disappointing to see.

If I'd been at the main stage when that announcement was made I'd've booed, utter dogshit with Zeal & Ardor the only relief (I do really like Unto Others, but they've been on and off BOA line-ups so many times it's not worth getting excited about).

King810 can get in the sea as they were bloody awful last time they played.

Zeal & Ardor is the highlight of the announcement for me but I will likely also watch Megadeth (again), KSE, Unto Others and Decapitated. Could have been worse I suppose :B

My understanding is that it wasn't well received. Though I wasn't there, and the friends saying that weren't particularly impressed themselves.

That said, a lot of my friends who go every year religiously are looking elsewhere for next year. A mix of poor announcements for next year and a poorly managed year this year has got people's backs up I think.

This is basically where I am, wasn't really feeling it this year but decided to go last minute with a cheap resale ticket after Manorfest then Dominion (unsurprisingly) flopped and it was still better than going nowehere. Have had zero post-festival blues and going to plan ahead and go somewhere else more established next year.

Next announcement is on the 11th. I'm guessing Anthrax will be in there, possibly subbing to Megadeth, as they're coming to the end of their tour...

Interesting to see In Flames announced after 16 years since they last played. They haven't produced anything worth listening to in the in-between years, so unless they're planning on only playing their older stuff, I'll be elsewhere.

Decent enough announcement. Anthrax and Sepultura are always wins for me. Looking forward to catching In Flames and Ugly Kid Joe for the first time too. Heard good things about Church of the Cosmic skull.

Sophie stage headliners aren't looking too thrilling. Maybe they have something special planned for that Saturday night headliner?

I'm still putting my money on Amon Amarth or Machine Head
