I wasn't bothered about Dimmu, probably slightly more into Cradle of Filth. I'm all for bands pulling out sooner and being replaced by British, so all in all I think this is ok news.

Currently have a Saturday day ticket that was originally bought for Mercyful Fate.

Tbh, even just a 3-band run at the end of the evening of PL - COF - Kreator would be bloody excellent after this shitty year we've had.

Fingers crossed we don't get the same weather we had in '19 that ruins the Saturday. Although having Cradle of Filth's set being fucked over again would be quite funny.

Cradle of Filth being announced greatly increases the chances of me attending, one of my favourite bands. A Saturday night ending with Kreator and CoF is pretty much perfect for me. Onslaught are a good announcement too, really enjoyed their last record.

I've already got a Sunday ticket. COF makes a Saturday ticket a possibility.

I might have watched Dimmu, but will definitely watch Cradle. Looks Like it is Mainstage for the last 3 bands on Saturday....which is the first time in a long while

Cradle is a great booking, especially as they replaced the thoroughly bland version of themselves, Dimmu. One of my favourite bands ever since in got into them in the 90s,and if their live stream last week was anything to go by, they're really on form live these days.

The line up is go much better after the last few alterations, and with Brutal Assault now canceled, I'm starting to sway towards going....!

I’ve still got my hotel and Eurostar booked but was thinking it was getting time to use my cancellation option.
They’ve said no American bands obviously but have promised adequate replacements. Major worry for me is the travel restrictions. Will Belgium be on the green list by august? Belgium/Holland is some way behind the UK so I’m shocked this is happening, and they’ve said no masks or social distancing too.

I'm in exactly the same boat. It's all gonna depend on what bands they announce for Alcatraz, obviously, which hopefully will be soon. I went in 2019 and it was fucking KILLER.

I see Glastonbury are have also been given the go-ahead to have up to 50,000 people on site at their mini festival in September.

Going to be tight, but hopefully they can keep on top of vaccines delivery and it counters the increase of other variants. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully over the next few weeks we will have a better idea.
I think if Reading is cancelled then it will be next year.
I'm still optimistic that it will go ahead.

ArcTanGent have postponed to next year, citing the lack of Covid insurance as the issue.

Hopefully Bloodstock are willing (and financially in a position) to take a punt on it going ahead. We must be pretty close to the point of no return in terms of payments for everything.

Daily case numbers are increasing slightly but that was always going to happen when people started being allowed to mix indoors again, particularly when so many younger people have yet to be vaccinated

The key stat to watch out for is hospitalisations (and eventually deaths). Number of people in hospital with covid in the UK is now under 1,000 and aside from the odd day where numbers increased slightly (i.e. by fewer than 20 people), the number of covid patients in hospital has continued to fall overall as more people get vaccinated.

Case numbers increasing isn't a big deal if they don't then translate into hospitalisations and deaths.
