The Facebook group is very toxic at the moment !!

In that it definitely won't be or definitely will be?

I'd say 50/50 judging by the comments!

Getting a bit envious seeing photos from the Download pilot event on social media, looks like a great little festival.

After 2 years without a festival and nearly a year and half since I last saw live music I couldn't give a fuck what the weather was doing

tbf what is there to say? Current government plans are still to remove all social distancing measures before Bloodstock. There's no suggestion that things like testing or vaccine passports will be required and from what's gone on so for BOA look far more prepared in terms of line-up than other festivals were. I wouldn't expect them to detail all their back-up plans (which Vicky's talked about already on the Damnation vs Bloodstock podcast) in a news announcement unless they're actually having to implement something.

I think its just the wording of the announcement for me. "Definitely bringing heavy metal..." there's nothing definite about it.

I think that's fair, though maybe it is definite as they've got themselves a guarantee to be a covid reopening pilot event should lockdown be extended. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

It's funny seeing all the Downloaders who went to the pilot marvelling at how great it was being camped right next to the arena like it's some kind of novel concept

Bloodstock may possibly become a government test festival.

Another festival with restrictions, interesting part is that ticket holders can carry their tickets over to next year if they wish.
Maybe there will be the option for people worried at going to Bloodstock this year.

Gutted about Night Flight Orchestra, they would have been great fun.

Aye same, were easily the biggest draw on Thursday for me. However with Ward XVI being essential on Wednesday will still be there for the full 5 days.

I think this now only leaves the following foreign bands on the line-up:

Devin
Kreator
Dark Tranquillity
Gloryhammer (well one of them)
Vio-Lence
Jinjer
Unleash the Archers

It would really be nice if they made an announcement of some kind regarding bands or even the status of the festival

They can't really right now though can they? They've announced they're planning as if everything's going ahead, but until they know if restrictions are definitely going to be lifted on 19th July, they can't tell people something which may turn out to mot be true.

I think when you read about infection rates in fans at the Euro 2020 then it can be difficult for anyone planning a festival until the government decides when to lift restrictions.
