I saw them do the whole of Gothic at Hellfest a few years ago, which was far better than seeing Draconian Times. Gothic, Lost Paradise, Icon and Shades Of God are all better than DC imo, as are a few of the newer ones.

But yeah I agree, pretty meh live band.

And yeah, line up looking very shit so far, glad I ain't going.

I haven't posted on these forums for a while but I quite like all 4 announcements which is a first. Having said that, none of them would seal the deal if I was undecided but still, they're a nice addition to the festival line-up.
Life of Agony - allow me to quote myself:
River Runs Red is a classic but all the rest a joke. They'd evaded me for years until last year when I decided to go see them on their own turf (Bowery Ballroom, NYC).
They are actually playing London tonight.
Pantera Tribute Act - never got a chance to see Pantera live so this is probably as close to them as we'll ever get. I don't listen to them anymore and the incident upset me a great deal but there's no denying I was into them when I was a teenager (early-mid 90s) and if he truly regrets what he did I see no reason to deny myself the pleasure of seeing them.
Paradise Lost - D.T. marks the band's beginning of the end in my opinion. I do like it but I remember my great disappointment when it came out. I skipped the D.T. in its entirety tour for that reason. I will gladly watch them at Bloodstock though. Also, Nick Holmes's on stage demeanour does not sit right with me - he is a bit of a nagger. Has there ever been a gig during which he did not complain about something?
Diamond Head - it's a British festival so there should ALWAYS be NWOBHM present. If anything, there's not enough of it.

Calling out bigotry for what it is isn't bullshit.

Both sides are painfully full of shit (self-righteous egotism all round) and, more importantly, its not on topic.

Not a bad announcement - Like PL and the Draconian Times album, so that's a win, DH are Ok and made a decent album recently, Phil Anselmo - never liked Pantera much so not fussed.

Regarding LOA - I think its fair to mention the singer - I've seen them twice, once before the transition and once last year. While its a bit 'armchair psychologist', there is a difference to the static performance as Keith and the more charismatic Mina - like the performance was freer and that was a truer character on stage. He was never the 'tough guy' as GTR suggested - sure they were grounded in hardcore but songs like Lets Pretend, Other Side of The River etc weren't vocaly/lyrically anything like Biohazard would knock out. Looking forward to them.

As for 'forgotten 90s band that no one wants to see', well, a few hundred went to see them at their headline gigs - not going to top the bill, but compared to Diamond Head? A forgotten 80s band that no one wants to see gets a pass? If Metallica hadn't covered their songs, they'd be totally obscure, and they're hardly filling the halls atm. Same is true of many other NWOBHM and Thrash bands that have been on the bill. Could certainly have applied to Saxon, Testament and Kreator when they first played.

Awful announcement for me. Still only Dark Tranquillity, Sacred reich and gloryhammer that I care for. And seeing them get 40 minutes doesn’t cut it for getting a ticket.
Hoping Alcatraz, Brutal Assault or Into the Grave is better line up for me on the same weekend

Had a listen to various LOA albums last night. I don't get what the fuss is about and River Runs Red is totally average.

Paradise Lost I will now have seen 5 times, either as a support act or on a festival bill. Not a band I ever want to see through choice. Will avoid them.

Pantera tribute act - no thanks, will stick to my memories of seeing Pantera.

Diamond Head - seen them a couple of times and enjoyed them, will watch them again.

Roll on the next announcement.

I think this next announcement wil determine whether I atend next year or not. I'm not holding my breath for it, the announcements so far have been the weakest since 2015 for my tastes.
