Svalbard are pretty good, I'm assuming they'll open the stage and that's a pretty good opener. Seen them a few times at Arctangent, and while I would describe them as "post-hardcore" they are more experimental than that suggests. Probably would be better on the Sophie though.
Soen are band of the announcement, decent prog metal.
Idle Hands are watchable, they seem a bit too goth for Bloodstock, they just sound like The Cure to me. Again, they'd probably go down better on the Sophie.
Acid Reign, Dog Tired, Viscera and Bailers are all not my thing at all.

Re: Next Announcement
Don't know much about most of that bunch, but even Stevie Wonder could see that Acid Reign would be announced for mainstage and I am so bloody happy that Soen have been added. How the hell are they below Bloodywood on the bill though?

They're like trad metal but also inspired by the Cure.
Anyone who sleeps on them is missing out.

Same here bud! I'm absolutely ecstatic to see them on the bill, wasn't expecting to get to see them any time soon but Bloodstock have caught me off guard!

Acid Reign will be fun on main and Svalbard were great when I saw them at Damnation before. The rest I need to check out.
So far this lineup is looking stacked for me, really glad I got my early bird ticket!
IDLE HANDS!!

Another Idle Hands fan, worth checking out their last album if you haven't already. Soen are also another good signing. Its like the bookers finally looked at some of the best of '19 and '18 lists to get some ideas for new bands to book rather than Loudwire.
Shame there are too many big quality gaps on the line up for me to change my plans now and go this year as there are a handful of bands I would really like to see.

Re: Next Announcement
There's still only 1 band across the whole of Friday and Saturday that I'd go out my way to watch (Paradise Lost). Good grief this is looking pretty dire. Hope the weather is nice for campsite drinking otherwise I'm gonna be screwed.

Over the whole weekend I'd only actively see Behemoth, Paradise Lost, Winterfylleth and Gloryhammer; 4 bands out of 44 isn't the best return.

If you want to spend upwards of 200 quid to sit in a field drinking, I've got a nice big plot in Wales ? no neighbours, so you can blast all the music you like ? You can even park next to your tent ! I'll do 2-for-1 if you want to bring your mates. VIP (extra) gets you access to the indoor plumbing.

Idle hands are a nice addition., but that's it. Sunday only is now pretty much locked down.

2010 there were 30 main stage bands
2011 - 27
2012 - 2015 - 26
2016-2017 - 25
2018 - 28
2019 - 27
So far for 2020 there’s 24

Nar, I'd rather spend the days watching a quality lineup of bands but Bloodstock don't seem to want to oblige.

What??
It doesn't go up and down, since 2011 it's always been 27, ie 9 bands per day!!
Are you trying to suggest that in the last few years they've been different numbers of bands on each day?! Cos they're haven't.

Might just be the amount of bands he wanted to see rather than the actual number of bands playing, least that is how I read it.

No that can't be right, unless he literally wants to see every single band that's been booked this year, and wanted to see every single main stage band in previous years, including wanted to see even more bands that were actually there in 2018 :/

I'm happy with Viscera, Dog Tired and Bailer. Should be able to fill the days now.
