Vicky didn't do anything to deny it in her reply...I'm pretty sure he knows exactly who it is. Don't know where that guy got something about it being someone who hasn't headlined before, although knowing them they've said that and completely forgotten Down have done it.

I'm not sure if Down are even a headline worthy band at this point, they haven't released an album in 13 years, their singer is openly a white supremacist, they're on the festival circuit pretty regularly, they rarely play more than 13 songs at any given show, Idk how you can justify having them as headliner, I don't see them moving that many tickets with Phil playing Pantera already on the bill. And I say this as someone that enjoys all 3 of their albums.

I'm not convinced it's MF, none of the hints so far give me any indication it would be them, chances are it's nobody special, Down, Amon Amarth, maybe FFDP. It's a replacement for Behemoth as I recall so I doubt it will be anybody spectacular.

I've got big hopes (after MF which it should be but doubt it will be) for Avatar. Overdue a return, grown massively in size and deserve redemption for the issues of '14. Obviously they're not on the same scale as Devin or Priest but I'd think they're pretty close to Behemoth.

How big are Avatar here? I only know them from supporting Halestorm in Academies a couple of years ago. They don't seem to have made waves here.

They packed up Shepherds Bush Empire over a year ago, so pretty big.

I wouldn't say headliner big though, more like 3rd from top.

Took a little peek at the Wacken Lineup, feel like As I Lay Dying are a strong possibility if it's not Down.

They did say they wanted to book Merciful Fate this year and couldnt for some reason so id assume that would be their initial go to.

But since most festivals are rolling over line ups etc its possible whatever stopped Bloodstock booking them this year may still apply.

Personally hope its someone else as im not into MF and Behemoth were the main headliner id like to see so would like a replacement I like but seems like an obvious 1 to go for if they can

Surely they're not close to being big enough. I stopped following them after Tim Lambesis tried to have his wife killed (although still listen to the pre-crazy phase music) but they surely can't have become popular enough over here to headline. The last time I saw them they supported Trivium in 2012 at the Birmingham Institute. I doubt they'd get close to filling it at a headliner. Down at least have the guy who was the Pantera singer as a selling point. They're definitely the sort of band whom Vicky would be excited to announce though.

Imagine Phil Anselmo and Tim Lambesis sharing stage. What other awful people would they want to join in at the festival which is associated with the Sophie Lancaster Foundation?

The band that AILD became after Timmy went jail did alright for themselves, can't remember the name but they were playing academies as I recall, now that Timmy's back out that probably increases their selling power. They're pulling in almost a million listeners each month on Spotify so clearly someone's still listening to them.

Also did Phil Anselmo not already share a stage with Faust?

Had another little look around festivals in August, Architects were a band that people had discussed headlining that could be a possibility, seem to be headlining Summer Breeze in Germany, would also continue on with the theme they set with Parkway Drive. Not a band that would convince me to buy a ticketbas I find that sort of stuff completely soulless, but definitely possible.

Eugh Architects would be even worse than Parkway. Plus after ticket sales bombed in '19, would they risk another 'core headliner?

They're definitely the sort of band that Vicky would be excited to announce as headliner. They're awful though. Killswitch Engage might be a candidate. I do like them, but it would cause a shitstorm from the BOA traditionalists.

Wovenwar - the rest of AILD + the Oh, Sleeper singer - played tiny venues on their own and seemed to have at least one show supporting In Flames.

Well apparently Parkway sold a lot of day tickets which are pretty lucrative.

Also I dont think fests are gonna have difficulty selling tickets for next year as a lot are already sold and for the rest you are gonna have a load of people who havnt done a fest in 2 years desperate to attend 1

I don't mind the albums KSE did with Howard but Jesse's vocals are awful. It's gonna be someone crap anyway because I actually like the other 2 headliners, 3/3 is too much to hope for.

I'd still love it to be Helloween. Not sure if they're big enough over here to headline though. I hope they are.
