None of the bands elevate the rest of the line up out of mediocrity (at best). Add in that they're either regulars on the UK circuit or played the fest before then doesn't do much to make want to see them at BOA.

Just checking out The Night Flight Orchestra. How wrong I was to think that I wouldn't like them - Toto vibes everywhere!

Thanks for those Orange Goblin suggestions

Did PwD play this year? It passed me by, if only they had advertised it well

Only Unleash the Archers for me out of that lot, did nothing in general to push me to buy an early bird like the last few years, Can't see me going at all if it keeps up. Most uninspiring line up by a country mile so far, I normally try and do the xmas comps, but having trouble finding the posts amongst the Parkhall road overload.

They really need to stop pushing Parkway so much, especially when they get all defensive when some of us say we don't like it and hand select comments and tweets shouting "how good they are". I get that some people like them sure, but don't shout about it like it's the greatest thing in the universe.

It is strange how as the fest has grown this forum has died. Old guard must've all stopped caring

The facebook groups are dead, too, regarding the festival - just chatting about general stuff.

Maybe, of the people who are left, they just log on at work.

Shame really, I like the format and use of the forums much more than comments under posts on IG or FB.

I have a look at the forum pretty much every day and have for over 10 years. I just tend not to log in unless I’m posting.
I mainly use it for gig discussion and keeping up with tour announcements rather than the actual festival itself. But yeah it’s definitely quieter these days.

I also lurk unless there's something I particularly want to say.

It's worth noting that there's usually ~200 "guests" online at any given point, and while some of these will be search engine bots (spiders), some will be lurkers.

The forums are pretty dead right now though.

Forums in general have died a lot from the old days, as people move more and more to the bigger sites like Facebook, Reddit, Twitter. I mean there's a politcal point to make about corporations coming in somewhere new and taking out the little guy yet again...

But it also doesn't help that there isn't much to talk about - the festival is pretty boring this year, no big controversies yet but also a pretty bland and predictable lineup.

Aye, but the sub-forums are dead in comparison so 5 odd years ago - the Metal Discussion and off topic ones used to be quite lively regardless of the line ups
