After the most recent announcement, I'm hoping that there will be something I like in the next announcement, but I'm not overly hopeful based on the current line up. Looks like it will be Brutal Assault or Metal Days instead unless there is a dramatic improvement....which is a shame.

At the minute, possible Saturday day ticket for me based on Trollfest, Brothers of Metal and Zeal and Ardor. The line up is looking better than this year, but I must be honest I've lost a lot of interest in Bloodstock.

After a good start that last batch of bands left me pretty cold, with only Sacred Reich that I would really want to see. (I really want to catch them though).

The shift in the booking over resent years is very clear. They types of bands that fill main stage just aren't my thing anymore; and the Sophie, despite a clear effort to make it more of a real alternative, is often just emulating the main stage with smaller bands.

And with other festivals struggling in this awful financial climate, the niche that bloodstock used to have is not been filled.

I still want the fest to do well but it might have to do it without people like me.
However, there is one more big set of bands to be announced, so I will keep an eye on it.

The final headliner and the final special guest will be announced Tuesday 29th November at 11am

Reckon that will make or break it for me.

Helloween mentioned the possibility of a uk fest next year on there fb thread. If true, Bloodstock would be the front runner surely.

I see Powerwolf are playing London the 29th. Could see them taking either slot tbh. Special guests to Helloween would work well although Saxon's tour is also finishing up around the same time...

Good split of Headiners and special guests - Helloween and Megadeth on Sunday is good but Anthrax and Meshuggah on Sat is the pick of the weekend for me.

Goddamit, switch them around so I can just get a Saturday day ticket

Just catching up with the latest slew of announcements.

Neither Meshuggah or Helloween are particularly to my tastes but both were heavily requested so fair play to the Bloodstock team for listening to the fans. It's probably the most positive reaction they've had to an announcement in ages.

Frozen Soul and Zetra are both excellent additions. Loved seeing Zetra when they supported Unto Others earlier this year and was actually going to request them in the wishlist. Warkings sound decent considering I'm not a big power metal fan and Tortured Demon were great when they last played the Jager stage.

Listened to a couple of tracks by Skynd and thought they were awful. Seems a waste of a headline slot to me unless I'm missing something?

Strange that Anthrax have pulled out. I wonder if it's to do with their drummer touring with Pantera around festival season? Nevertheless, a Celtic Frost set is an excellent replacement.

Triptykon playing a Celtic Frost set is a definite improvement on Anthrax

A CF set is most welcome.

Shame we had to pay anthrax as the price though. Stil, Celtic Frost is one of my all time favourite do I'm happy with this!

I actually like almost all of the replacement bands this year over the original bookings. Festival looks pretty darn good from my perspective now.
