My passport runs out in July and I'm going abroad in June, I've seen a couple of rumours about having to have a few months left on it, but I'm only going to a within EU country (Belgium), anyone able to confirm that if it's within expiry date it's definitely valid?

Yeah you're 100% fine as long as it's EU/in date. Think it's fairly rare these days for countries to require 3/6 months on your passport these days.

You probably won't get travel insurance if it's due to expire within 3 months of your departure.

If you have a driver's licence you can travel to Belgium with that, though (at least you could 5 years ago, not sure if you still can)...

Depends on the country. Some want your passport to be valid for up to 6 months after the date of your visit and others you can travel to right up to the day it expires, you're best off checking with the Passport Office or somewhere official on what the entry requirements for Belgium are.

I have a 3-year railcard and like fuck was I looking as buggered as my passport photo (i was ill, rained on, tired and had been at work all day, haha) - may or may not have spent a decent amount of times making sure I didn't look a mong.
