I thought that was just me! I have far too many embarrassing things to go dying in any tragic accidents.
The stories from when I was a little kid were amazing, such as the tale of Interpak: ruler of the world. (Although definitely not in the same league as Craig's spring poem.) Why the hell can't I come up with stuff like that now?
I found an old porn story I wrote when I was still a virgin. My wife and I had a huge laugh about it. It had lines like "Her ass was so soft, like a roll of Charmaine toilet paper" and "Her cunt was so juicy, like an orange cut in half and a slit down the middle." She thinks it's got to go though.
Not too long ago I started going through some of my old journals and crossing off the bad memories and highlighting the good memories. I'm just seeing less need to hang onto crap memories and seeing my father decay away with dementia has opened my eyes to the need to focus on the good times rather than the bad.

Re: A free-for-all thread
Personally I binned it all except some of the sketches. It took up unnecessary room and I knew that after that day I wouldn't have looked at them again.
Also, as bad as my self esteem issues were as a teenager, I never really wrote about them - I seemed to find release from concentrating on positive things, so they wouldn't have had any sort of theraputic value for me.

Oh, I never specifically wrote about them, it's just fairly evident in the drawings, and there are a few tiny scribbled notes.

Why do so many teens get angsty and write/draw shit?
Why don't they do what I did - discover Budweiser at 15 and spend inhuman hours playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

I don't think I've ever written anything outside of school. I spent my angsty teenage years drinking in the park and playing football and shit like that. Thinking about it, I haven't changed all that much

Because writing and sketching are both enduring hobbies of mine? They've nothing to do with being angsty. I certainly wasn't feeling overly emotional when I made Fjar's present
Thinking about it, I wasn't much of an angsty teen anyway.

Re: A free-for-all thread
i dont need to worry about uncovering anything embarassing from my teens. i was always angry and destructive, any time i made anything at school i wrecked it straight after. and i never wrote anything down that i didnt burn after leaving school. basically i was a giant cock but theres little evidence of it thankfully
i like to think im a much calmer person now

As soon as I knew what paint was I wouldn't stop playing with art, according to mum. Apparently it was difficult to keep me clean of paint It's been a lifelong thing for me, not just a teenage thing.
Budweiser? You girl. At fifteen I was drinking too much vodka, playing too much Sims and doing a lot of art, whilst trying to convince myself that medicine was the right career path for me.

I did both. Though it was Southern Comfort instead of Bud
I just wrote stuff I thought was funny though, nothing angsty. My self-esteem is still as low as it was when I was 13, and just hid in my room in front of a computer or tv. So I never wrote anything depressing, I just found writing as a positive outlet for myself. I always rocked at english in school for it.
Re: A free-for-all thread
I never wrote anything angsty as a teenager.
I just sat in front of the computer and took out any hormone fuelled frustration on strangers on the internet.
And judging by the symptoms the doctor gave me, suffered from depression from about 18-22.

Re: A free-for-all thread
I wrote and drew angsty things because I was an antisocial bellend. Which is why I'm so keen to get rid of it all. It's embarrassing.

I never had an angsty teen phase. It'll probably come when I'm in my 80s instead.

Re: A free-for-all thread
I never wrote anything down as an angsty teen although perhaps discovering internet forums as an angry 16 year old probably wasn't a good thing.
Thank god for various culls eh? We just need the first few hundred pages of the Pissed You Off thread pruned and I'll be safe.

Me too. I still have a diary from when I was 12 or 13 and I can never bring myself to read anything in it because it's so cringey. I still don't want to bin it though, I might find it amusing sometime in the future, once the embarrassment has worn off
