Most snakes available in pet shops and such are corn snakes - it'd still hurt if one bit you, but they're pretty harmless

The sous chef at work just got a corn snake named Tyrone. Apparently it licks his face. Blatantly an awesome pet.

I like snakes. I couldn't keep one though. Reptiles have a horrible smell.

Snakes can fuck the fuck off. If I have kids they can have the following pets;

-Cats
-Dogs
-Rabbits
-Hamsters

Rats/Mice/Any reptiles/Spiders and they can fuck off and live somewhere else first.

Doubt I could ever get used to it. Rats smell just as vile too.

Disagree. Rats don't smell, of course their cage does if you don't clean it out every once in a while, but that goes for any animal.

Yeah, from having looked after friends' rats, guinea pigs and hamsters I learnt they only became stinky if you don't clean them out enough. I still don't think i'd ever be fussed about getting one as a pet, though.

ferrets fucking stink! When they are stressed they do a sort of skunk thing and stink even more.

Err, wjat? I'm sorry, but Rich's female rats definitely had a bit of a smell about them no matter how often he'd clean the cage and them I do miss the little buggers though.

I'm afraid female rats do smell - not as bad as the boys, but they do. Although mine did take great delight in pissing on each other from the top decks of the cage.
