Can't think of pickled walnuts without thinking of Len Goodman perving on the female dancers on Strictly.

They are a lot tastier without the skin though, that's what makes them have that bitter aftertaste

What's more awkward than following strangers on Facebook? Trying to figure how to add someone you've never met and don't know on LinkedIn as a potential job contact. You have to pick 'friend' as how you know the person, even when you aren't, and the 'other' option asks for their email address. >.<
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

What the hell is this Dryathlete bollocks all about?

...Is not drinking for a month supposed to be hard or something?

It is for some people. I've personally never understood it but we all have different circumstances and social circles.

So what do I get for not drinking for 6 or so years?
This whole new 'trendy' thing of being sponsored for simply doing nothing is just stupid. If stopping drinking for a month is enough of a challenge for you that you need sponsoring to do it, then you need to see a doctor.

Re: A free-for-all thread
I happen to agree Kami. However for some people, certainly many out in the walled communities I spent the last 4 years, drinking IS the only social life people had. They would be on the booze from 4pm Wednesday through to god knows what time on Friday night and when they went on holiday it would be everyday in the pub back home. Actually doing something with your weekend was considered a waste of valuable drinking time.
I know plenty of people back home who are just the same, they can't seem to understand doing something that doesn't involve drinking. There are even people on this forum that have suggested they can't have a good time without alcohol being involved and I can't help but feel a little saddened by it.

This.
One of my mates in sixth form gave up drinking for a month to prove he's not an alcoholic after he got sick of us joking (once) about it.
He didn't appreciate the irony of giving up drinking for a month to prove you're not an alcoholic being the kind of thing an alcoholic in denial might do. Especially when he only lasted 3 days..

Re: A free-for-all thread
I'm sure many after New Years eve will happily sign up for that
I was considering giving up the booze for 2-3 months in the new years as a bid to lose weight and save money, but I'm also packing in the smoking for good so it might be a bit too much to ask in one go.
And lol, that chart says pint's only cost you £3 yeah right

Re: A free-for-all thread
I stopped drinking for the whole of 2012 because of my New Year's hangover
Re: A free-for-all thread
I'm looking to cut down in the new year to a beer or two each week (been having at least one a night some weeks), to save money and try and lose weight. Still going to go out maybe once a month, but only on special occasions or whatever. Just don't feel like getting twatted as much as I used to tbh.

Re: A free-for-all thread
I guess it is a challenge for some people, sponsored or not.
Is there a cause that the sponsored money goes to? Thinking about Movember - people use it as an excuse to grow a moustache, not to raise money. People like to challenge themselves, in a variety of ways.
