"I'm here to bang your daughter" isn't a great opening line

Parents always like me, but jeez. Next time I want parents who aren't scary lower class types. Just once!

The feedback I've always had from bfs rentals is 'she's nice, but very quiet'. I can never really relax and be myself around them, especially if there's a sister involved for some reason.

I'm the same with sisters for some reason. Fortunately all the people I've ever been out with have only had brothers.

I guess it still beats "I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle..."
There's no 'I' in snuffly

My mum did the same thing for years - "Oh, David was such a nice boy" as if it's my fault. He broke up with me! Now he's grown up, she keeps saying how amazing he looks now. Yeah, I'm sure his girlfriend agrees! :ugh:

What is it with mums?!
My mum openly talks about how she fancies my ex and still flirts with him on facebook and stuff  Luckily it's not awkward and she doesn't compare him to my current!

I think I got on with my first gf's parents. Her mum was absolutely lovely. Her dad was a decent bloke but I was very nervous of him. He only asked in jest but reduced me to a stammering wreck when he asked why I was with a 19-year-old at 24.

Geez, finally. Thanks Jim. But the polite bit is true - I'm increasingly less punctual though.

This is the feedback for my life. I recently got described as "the turtle" by one of my best mates because I'm apparently always quietly hiding in a shell (as opposed to be a badass ninja named after a classical artist).

:? Not exactly that much of an age gap.

He was winding me up. :P

My folks are the same about my current lady friend, she is pretty quiet and my mum considers it rude.

My mum is a notorious ass hat though so, y'know, whatevs dawg

I usually get along with parents, and mine have only had a dislike for one of my exes (based on the way she broke up with me, not how she was in the relationship). I'm generally a polite person around people I don't know/know I need to stay on the good side of, anyway. Very rarely do girlfriends' parents see the same person my friends do

I forgot that I'm basically always quiet and keep myself to myself.

About once every half hour the person in charge of me at work comes by and goes "Are you okay?"

It's like "Yeah. Just doing some work".
