Re: movies
Seriously, who programs these things?
A lycanthropic metamorphosis from human into wolf is a scary enough prospect on its own - but one which changes a werewolf into an African dictator is something from straight the mind of a maniac.

Re: movies
Saw Good Day to Die Hard today...A mediocre action film, loose plot with a predictable attempt at a 'twist'. The little plot there was was just there to link action sequences. John McClane is a watered down version of his former self, some attempts at wit that seem to be so throwaway they're barely noticeable. The father-son relationship is predictable and cliched.
The action sequences themselves are ok, but silly, drawn out and poorly edited. Easily the weakest in the series.

Re: movies
Pretty much what everyone is saying, I've heard they've cut 30 minutes from the film, by the sounds of it they are important to the plot

Re: movies
I'm currently making the effort to watch every 'big' film that is out, all the Oscar nominees etc.
Just finished Flight, I REALLY recommend it. Brilliant film.

The Cabin in the Woods - I went into this knowing there was plot twists here there and everywhere. The combo Joss and Drew was perfect. The story was very well layed out, the monsters were fantastic, and the constant homages to other horror films was great although I was curious which ones were inspired by which film sometimes. The ending i found a little weird. It just feels like half a story and i want the other half. But overall it was enjoyable, 7/10

Re: movies
I thought it was two thirds a good film followed by a bigger budget Season 4 finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I set myself the task of watching the IMDB top 100 a year or so back, this post, although not exactly related, has just reminded me I never finished it. Just brought the list up...I have the following to watch...
The Godfather part II
(The second half of) Seven Samurai
Django Unchained*
M
Untouchable*
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Once Upon a Time in America
Rashomon
Bicycle Thieves
Princess Mononoke
The Apartment
*these two weren't there at the time. A few I have watched have since bumbled out. I'm not a particularly big fan of The Godfather so find it hard to force myself to watching a 3 hour sequel...I'm also not keen on watching Princess Mononoke as it appears to be anime...which I generally hate.

Re: movies
I really liked Princess Mononoke. It's essentially Pocahontas, but prettier and with more gore.

Watched Goodfellas again last night, put Casino on tonight at midnight. It's safe to say it was a bad decision. Just woke up now

Re: movies
Just saw A Good Day To Die Hard. It was OK. I'd watch it again, but probably wouldn't buy the DVD.
I liked it better than Live Free Or Die Hard, but it's not a patch on the first three movies.
I've had an idea for Die Hard 6: Die Haado Gei - John McClane goes on holiday to Tokyo and the usual action-packed shenanigans ensues...but this time, he's joined by Japan's #1 faux-homosexual comedian/wrestler Haado Gei.
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

Re: movies
As we all know the bluray is going to include the rest of the film, I will buy it just out of curiosity to be honest
