I really wish someone would do a proper grizzly, horror, dark version of Dr. Who. Without female companions.

Just a solitary, battle-scarred, all-knowing-yet-all-fearing-yet-commanding character (bit like a cross between Lawrence Fishburne's character in Event Horizon and James Bond[it'd work, picture it]) with some real mindfucks of storylines.

The closest I enjoyed Dr Who was the weeping statues one.

So, basically, you'd like Doctor Who if it was something completely different to what it always has been. Better off just making a different show altogether!

I thought it was ok last night, I like Matt Smith but get irritated by his goofiness at times (although that just seems to be the way modern actors are told to play the part). It reminded me a little too much of some other recentish episodes, particularly the Tennant/Piper one with the people who lost their faces.

On the subject of Tennant and Piper I see they've both been confirmed to appear in the 50th anniversary special alongside Smith in November.

Nah like I said, I like the concept of Dr Who, someone who travels time and space sorting shit out.

I just dislike the character.
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

Which one? The character has been played wildly differently by various people over the years. Either way, if they were going for a battle scarred, gun toting tortured hero it would be a different show altogether than it always has been.

Revolution was alright, if very predictable. As annoying as that main girl is though, the thinly veiled pro-republican messages are more annoying (the bad guys banning guns and burning flags? Subtle).

Not really got into Matt Smith as the Doctor myself. He seems to childish at times, particularly in times when that's the last thing he should be doing. The new girl was quite good, but the story was a load of crap (as is so often the case, solved in the last 5 minutes by some bullshit contrivance that shouldn't have worked and didn't really solve anything anyway). The two parters are usually better (at least a victory feels earned in those), so I wish Moffat would get back to that.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

Quite like Dr Who this week. I think Moffat can write great stories, and his Dr Who stuff clearly does better in smaller bites compared to when he did whole seasons in one go. curious what will become of the character at the end. was nice seeing the actor back.

Also, its been announced David Tennent and Billie Piper wil return for the 50th special and will bring the amazing John Hurt with them. Hopefully we get some more doctors returning as well. Christopher Ecclestone would be a welcomed return.

Didn't I start a discussion on Revolution ages ago?

Anyway, having watched all 12 episodes so far...it starts reasonable well, and has that 'I want to know what happens next' factor, but it quickly loses it's charm. I can't even remember what happened in the last few episodes, I doubt they'll make another series.

Did everyone watch a different Walking Dead finale to me?

I've just been on a couple of different forums and the general consensus was that it was shit.
Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I can't say why for obvious spoilery reasons, but having read loads of different opinions about the finale, some of the reasons people didn't like it absolutely beggar belief.
I actually burst out laughing at one point.

This series of The Walking Dead started out as a fantastic handjob from an elegant and attractive blonde that seemed to know what she was doing, but got tired half way through and slowed down completely meaning that I lost all interest in the experience and at the end, she got cramp and had to go away leaving me feeling a mixture of hate, anger and disappointment at something that had started so well but deteriorated slowly to a rubbish ending.

Or something.

Definitely, it was a complete cop out, especially given the lengthy build up. Obvious hoorah's at the end but didn't quell the disappointment.
