I was a Herbal gal before I got my hair highlighted. Now I just go with whatever colour protect stuff is on offer.

It basically moisturises and protects your hair, but also makes it soft and shiney. Not essential, but it does help with split ends etc

I don't think I'd agree with the "not essential". I had no idea what it was and no use for it. Until I grew my hair. Then it became essential...

I use my conditioner every time. Annabel recommended the Aussie stuff, and I havent looked back
