My friend took the piss out of me this morning over it, saying "she was clearly in to you, why didn't you kiss her?"

Me : "Because she was sober."

Me : "It doesn't happen when THEY'RE sober. That's just..no. There was no way she was interested in me. I just wanted to talk to her like."

FWIW, my friends depaired so much, they locked me and my first girlfriend in a room overnight and wouldn't let us out until we'd got together. We did, but honestly, I thought we were just good friends until that point.

FWIW, my friends depaired so much, they locked me and my first girlfriend in a room overnight and wouldn't let us out until we'd got together. We did, but honestly, I thought we were just good friends until that point.

Well I just met this girl, she was a friend of a friend, and she didn't know any of us so I thought I'd try to make an effort, y'see. Seemed perfectly innocent to me, even though it was the girls birthday, and my friend seemed reeally insistent that I give her a "birthday kiss" or something.

I was drinking though. Not heavily, just had a few. Wasn't dressed for a night out or anything, so the idea of her actually showing interest genuinely had not crossed my mind.


I'm not even interested in her. Just wanted to be friends. It's the fact that I am now completely unaware of this probably means my self-confidence has gone down a bit, since I haven't had a girlfriend in a good while. It's funny, I think.

Indeed. Without that, I suspect I'd never have mustered the courage to suggest anything more than friendship to her. Not that it lasted. 10 days later, she left me for one of my best friends
