Tbh with the length it had gotten, I should have used a beard trimmer (or at least scissors) first to get the most down before going in with the Gillette Fusion.

This is what I use and while I frequently nick myself, it will go through damn near any length of hair. Once you've tried a few times it's really easy to do.
