I have never not seen curry sauce or mushy peas in a fish and chip shop anywhere. Gravy is also normally present. Tet just lives in a third world backwater.

Barmy about barms eh...

I was thinking about this topic at work today (my job is boring in case you're wondering, I'm not a bread weirdo like you ) and it occured to me that while we never say barm, we do use butty for when it's filled. Like a chip butty.

Just writing that made me suddenly crave one.

Actually I think you'll find a butty is when it's made with sliced bread. A barm is when it's made with a bap. It's quite simple

Here in Sheff a chip butty is chips in a buttered bread... cake!
