Re: A free-for-all thread
Anyone know anything about "custom and practise" employment laws? If I've been getting a certain amount of hours per week consistently for 2 years now does that over-ride the amount guaranteed in my original contract?

No. Your contract should have been updated to reflect those hours if they were to be guaranteed.

I've not been on in months so no idea. Shame though, I really miss it. We'll have to get people back on when Game of Thrones starts again because Ania's reactions are priceless!

It's still there, but nobody seems to be using it.
Maybe we should start using it again when we all have some spare time? I don't think I've spoken to any of you properly in ages D:

That time when you should be doing something productive but actually you are watching a lot of Voyager.

People with jobs that aren't really shit - many of you have mentioned how helpful a good knowledge of Excel has been to you. I'm reasonably competent but I was wondering what things I should know how to do to make my Excel knowledge super useful/impressive?

Learn pivot tables and vlookup.
You'll seem like a god.

Yup, Pivot Tables and charting on top of pivot tables.
If you can get your hands on some decent sized datasets (several hundreds of rows) then have a play with PowerView. It's a free addon for Excel 2007 and 2010 and comes built into Excel 2013.
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

Random one: any typographers on the forum? Can you identify what font I'm using for the 'List' logo below? I seem to have lost the original PSD of this file so I have no idea. I'm an idiot.
