Got 100% on my drug calculations/mathsy exam (somehow) and managed to hand in something that resembles an essay. Not bad on no sleep for daaays.

Congrats!
My girlfriend just found out that she got an A20 (Scottish equivalent of 100%) on her latest exam, and she's on a nursing course too (sounds like you are), so perfect scores all around!

This guy last night was fucking grand. I don't know what is about Ginger / Wildhearts shows, but they make me inordinately happy. Saw a lot of other great bands throughout the day at Camden Rocks, although ended up getting a bit more plastered than I had intended. Still, great fun.
Yup - the Wildhearts were the first band I drove to see when I passed my test, on the PHUQ tour in 1995. I love the band, but Ginger always seems to carrying a burden when playing those gigs, and from what I've read, takes it very personally if things aren't going well, but his solo gigs seem to be a lot lighter in tone.
Late reply, but yeah, you're totally right - Wildhearts shows are great, but Ginger does always seem a lot more... moody and intense about them. I definitely marginally prefer the solo shows, partially because there's more material to choose from too.

Despite Kreator playing in Birmingham in December I am seriously considering going down to London to meet up with a few friends. Ill no doubt do both, but I need something that gets me outta the house more than anything really. If any of you guys were contemplating going as well, see you in the Dev!

Re: What has made you happy today
Thursday was my first time closing the department by myself, and it was a bit of a mess. I went down early for the handover and it was a warzone, no team leader or manager in sight, nobody to hand over to me, nobody to do the trolleys. The essentials got done and I left it tidier than I found it, but it was pretty bad. Tonight however I was handed the keys at 3, had a small busy period which was stressful but I managed, was able to go out myself to get the trolleys a few times, and everything was done. I even got everyone that was in to watch the monthly briefing. Next shift in charge is Friday, same shift as today. First time without my manager also being on late though.

Watching a bat fly around inside the pub on Saturday night when we were in the Forest of Dean. I love bats.
Re: What has made you happy today
I am genuinely petrified of bats. You can sodding keep it. I went in the bat enclosure where (I think) Beardy works, and it properly shat me up. Don't ask why I went in there.

Oiled the hinges on the doors. Not only did it feel incredibly manly to do so, the doors downstairs no longer creak when open, and they also open incredibly smoothly.
Oil your doors. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah they live in the dark, they fly fast, they fly close to you, they make fucking weird noises. It is my idea of hell.
Re: What has made you happy today
I'm still traumatised from my friend's mum putting her hand on my head and pretending a bat had landed on me the first time I went in there when I was younger. I screamed.
