OK, we already have a wishlist and a "next announcement" thread, but I wanted to start a thread for predicitions. This isn't the bands you want to see, it's the headliners and others you think are most likely to play.
I'm calling something like this:
Headliners: Kreator (Friday), Nightwish OR Mastodon (Sat.), Judas Priest (Sun.)
I'm also calling Blind Guardian as special guests for any day, and Kvelertak as Sophie stage headliners.

That's very similar to what our group came up with at the fest.
Friday: Nightwish
Saturday: Mastodon/Rob Zombie
Sunday: Judas Priest
I agree with BG and Kvelertak too. I think I'll go with Shining (SWE) headlining 2nd too.
Re: The Headliner Prediction Thread
Sabaton - Volbeat - Judas Priest
In Flames - Blind Guardian - Kreator
That's what my friends and I were thinking. Judas Priest being a bit of a reach.

Trivium, Mastodon and Nightwish.
Probably. I won't be going if any of those are booked. Same goes for many of the other suggestions.

Morbid Angel, Opeth and Judas Priest

Death to Power Pop!! It should go down with the sinking ship that is Download festival.
Re: The Headliner Prediction Thread
Trivium seem like a safe bet for mainstream headliner to me. The other two slots are harder to predict. Everyone seems to want Priest, and they seem logical as they are big enough to follow Megadeth and Slayer, but they might not want to do it. No idea who it'll be for the other slot, I guess maybe Nightwish, but could see them dropping to sub headliner as they really aren't that big any more. If they don't end up with Trivium, my guess would be Korn for the mainstream headliner - maybe a bit leftfield for the festival, but suitably popular/still somewhat heavy/pretty much the only festival they'd get a headline slot any more.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

Re: The Headliner Prediction Thread
Why does anyone think Kreator will headline
why would a band that has played before and never headlined do so now?
The same goes for Blind Guardian, At The Gates, Morbid Angel, Arch Enemy and anyone else thats played before
My guess
Alice in Chains
Dream Theater
Judas Priest
Although Opeth instead of Drem Theater seems more likely. Would prefer if it wasnt though

Re: The Headliner Prediction Thread
I highly doubt Trivium, I'm not even sure if they're that big of a pull, or even big enough to headline, not to mention that they would never go down well with the current BOA crowd.

Kreator are as big as other bands that have headlined recently such as Behemoth, WASP, Immortal and King Diamond. They also deserve it.

Yes. But they are popular with the kiddies. And Vicky apparently likes them.......

Tbf a lot of my friends listen to Trivium, but only 2 of them have been to Bloodstock, and one of them says he doesn't like them as much anymore.

The headliners wouldn't stop me going, out of the last 6 I've only wanted to see one (King Diamond), if there's one out of the three I like I'd be happy. Especially with Sophie headliners being better and on at the same time.
I think the headliners are a barometer of the rest of the festival though. If they book three "mainstream" headliners then the rest of the line up will probably reflect that.
TBH I just put three bands that are my worst possible scenario.
