A few good bands between now and Christmas and I'm pretty much a dead cert for returning to Bloodstock after a few years away.

Judas Priest won't be in the first announcement they'll be the last headliner confirmed.

I'd put money on Opeth being in the first announcement as the first headliner.

Do we think it'll just be one band (ie a headliner or a sub) or a small handful?

I reckon the first headliner plus 2 or 3 others

Opeth
In Flames
Electric Wizard
Sodom

That would do for the first announcement

Would they not likely wait until late October/early November for Opeth seeing as thought they have a tour on?

I'm gonna go with Nightwish as a headliner.

It will take a very very good line up (something ob par with 2011) to get me to return next year. Not because I am fed up with the shit lineups (which I am, but its not the reason) but because I am doing Wacken this year so doing both would be a stretch

My money's on Edguy being in the announcement.

Edguy, Nightwish, Judas Priest? Are you people stuck in 2011?! It'll be Avenged Sevenfold, You Me at Six and Trivium.

I much prefer them actually giving a date, rather than "its coming soon". I guess this far ahead of next year they've got to hype things up as much as they can.

Edguy might be a good shout, what with their "tour" coming at the end of next week, which I believe is at least mostly sold out. I reckon we'll have something weird in there to, like the Fozzy announcement two years ago.

More fun than just about all the headliners combined over the last few years.

But... no.

I'm only half joking - I could easily see an announcement of something like:
Nightwish (headliner), Cannibal Corpse (special guest), Edguy, Babymetal and Running Wild.

I can see it being:

Cryptopsy, Evile, Satyricon

BabyMetal are brilliant live i'd rate them second best to when i saw Rammstein back in 2005 which i hold as my favourite gig ever. BabyMetal could easily pull of a special guest slot playing the whole of their first album for sure and everyone would be having fun and love it for sure!
