No, that's the Dutch (and I once met a German who said the same).

Seriously now, with Russia seemingly going back to its old ways this is not the time for a major member of NATO to be breaking up.

Rumours were flying around on Twitter earlier that a couple of polling places in Falkirk closed early due to 100% turnout.

False as polling stations remain open to 10pm regardless of turnout completion to allow postal votes to be dropped off.

I'll be curious to see the overall turn-out, there was a pretty large turnout by 12 at my polling station.

Well it's the biggest referendum concerning the Union since the Good Friday Agreement so it'll be over 85% easily. Don't expect to see a similar turnout for the first election of an independent Scotland though, in 1998 the turnout for the first post-GFA Stormont elections dropped to just 67%.

My polling station was about as quiet as it always is when I go.

Well, theres certainly no love lost between the Dutch and the Germans.

Went to Roadburn a few years ago and a pal who speaks fluent German thought as the languages looked pretty similar that they would speak German instead of English to the locals. "Please do not speak that language" was about the gist of it. Still quite a bit bitter about the war, it seems.

Dutch and German might be vaguely similar but English is practically a second language to the Dutch. Unless you're talking to an elderly person there you can probably assume they are fluent in English.

The first time I went to Holland I asked the barman in a pub if he spoke English. "I'm not a bloody foreigner!" was his reply.
